This 1954 Willys M38A1 is finished in olive drab over beige cloth upholstery and powered by a 134ci Hurricane inline-four paired with a Borg Warner three-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes 16″ body-colored steel wheels, painted U.S. Army-style graphics, a fold-down windshield, a rear-mounted jerrycan and spare tire, and rear seats. The truck was acquired by the selling dealer in January 2021 for use as a showroom display, and work completed in preparation for the sale consisted of replacing the tires and changing the oil. This military Willys is now offered with a clean Minnesota title. The M38A1 was a military-specification model that inspired the civilian Jeep CJ-5. This example is finished in olive drab and features painted U.S. Army-style graphics on the hood, rockers, front bumper, fenders, and rear corners. Features include a fold-down windshield with hand-crank wipers, driver-side mirror, braided tow rope wrapped around the front bumper, power take-off unit, and rear-mounted jerrycan and spare tire. Body-colored 16″ steel wheels wear Firestone tires that are said to have been installed in preparation for sale. Stopping is handled by four-wheel drum brakes. The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in tan cloth and accompanied by body-colored interior sheet metal. Equipment includes twin-stick transfer case selectors, a floor-mounted shifter and parking brake, a power cutoff switch, a passenger grab handle, and a glove compartment. The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of center-mounted instrumentation including a 60-mph speedometer and gauges showing generator status, coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 30k miles, approximately 100 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The 134ci Hurricane F-head inline-four is equipped with a single carburetor and a 24 volt electrical system. A shovel is mounted to the underside of the hood, and the engine oil was changed in preparation for sale. Power is sent to all four wheels via a Borg Warner T90 three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. There is corrosion on the exhaust system, and additional underside images are provided in the gallery. Some of the images shown in the gallery were taken in October 2021.
