1955 Mercedes-Benz 190SL

This 1955 Mercedes-Benz 190SL is a first-year example that was acquired by the seller’s father in 1986, was passed to the seller in 2019, and underwent a refurbishment in 2023 that included overhauling the fuel system, wiring, brake system, and lights in addition to replacing interior and exterior trim, seals, motor mounts, shifter bushings, and fuel gauge. The car is powered by a 1.9-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in black over black leather. Equipment includes a white convertible soft top, 13″ steel wheels with body-color hubcaps, and drum brakes. This 190SL is now offered with a copy of the build sheet and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name. The car is finished in black and features a white convertible soft top, a driver-side mirror, and a bright windshield surround, grille, and bumpers. The rear lights, headlight assemblies, windshield, windshield seal, front bumper, and front bumperettes were replaced in 2023. The car is not equipped with windshield wiper arms. Steel 13″ wheels wear chrome trim rings, hubcaps with body-color accents, and 175/80 R13 Milestar Radial Tires tires. Worn paint is noted on two of the steel hubcaps. The car is equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension as well as rear swing axles with coil springs. The drum brakes were overhauled in 2023 with work that included bleeding the lines, replacing lines as necessary, turning the drums, and replacing the master cylinder, wheel cylinders, and shoes. The cabin features low-back bucket seats upholstered in black leather as well as matching door panels and dashboard trim. Amenities include an analog clock, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror. The floor mat, dashboard chrome trim, door handles, sun visors, windshield frame, steering column, fuel gauge, and trunk and door seals were replaced during the 2023 refurbishment. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission. The bushings for the shifter and linkage have been replaced.
