1956 Volkswagen Beetle (Oval Window)

This 1956 Volkswagen Beetle is a Karmann-bodied convertible that is one of 6,868 examples produced for the model year. The car reportedly underwent a refurbishment in 2011 before being relocated the following year to Canada, where it was recently acquired by the seller. Finished in brown and tan over a two-tone tan and cream interior, the car is powered by a replacement 1,600cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and is equipped with a replacement oval window soft top, tan carpets, a 12-volt electric system, and an aftermarket head unit. This Beetle Convertible is now offered with a British Columbia registration in the name of the seller’s wife. The body has been refinished in two-tone brown and tan and fitted with a replacement oval window black soft top. Additional features include chrome bumpers with overriders, a brown boot cover, Volkswagen and Karmann badging, and a fender-mounted antenna. Tan-painted 15″ steel wheels wear chrome VW hubcaps and trim rings along with Firestone whitewall tires. The seller states that the suspension and braking system were overhauled during the 2011 refurbishment. The interior has been reupholstered with tan seat covers with cream piping, two-tone side panels, and tan carpets. The body-color dashboard houses an aftermarket head unit stereo. An ivory-colored two-spoke “bat wing” steering wheel fronts an 80-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows just over 35k miles, only a handful of which were added by the seller. True mileage is unknown. Power is from a replacement single-port 1,600cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle.
