This 1957 Messerschmitt KR200 has reportedly been in Canada since the 1960s and underwent a refurbishment in Nova Scotia in 1996 before it was moved to Ontario and acquired by the selling dealer in 2021. The car is finished in white over red vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a 191cc Fichtel & Sachs two-stroke single paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a side-hinged body-color canopy, a wraparound windshield, sliding side windows, and a steering yoke. Service performed under the selling dealer’s ownership reportedly included the installation of a new fuel line as well as cleaning of the carburetor. This Messerschmitt is now offered in Canada with a white convertible top and frame and a transferable Ontario registration. The Fritz Fend-designed KR200 debuted in 1955 and was built under license by Fahrzeug und Maschinenbau Regensburg from 1957 to 1964. This example was refinished in white during the 1996 refurbishment and features a side-hinged body-color canopy, a wraparound windshield, sliding side windows, side-mounted turn signals, and a driver-side mirror. A white convertible top and frame are included in the sale. Chrome covers with faux two-eared spinners are fitted on the front two wheels, while all three wheels are mounted with bias-ply tires. The car features a three-wheel independent suspension, and braking is handled by cable-operated mechanical drums. The cockpit features tandem seating trimmed in red vinyl with white piping. A black rubber mat covers the floor, and a map pocket is fitted below the door hinge. Labels noting the 1996 refurbishment are mounted on the underside of the canopy. Steering is via a yoke positioned ahead of a color-matched dash that contains an 80-mph VDO speedometer, an ammeter, and auxiliary controls. The five-digit odometer shows over 13k miles. Total mileage is unknown. The air-cooled Fichtel & Sachs 191cc two-stroke single was factory rated at 9.9 horsepower. A replacement fuel line was installed by the selling dealer, who also performed a carburetor cleaning. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a sequential four-speed manual transmission and an enclosed drive chain.
