1958 Mercedes-Benz 190SL

This 1958 Mercedes-Benz 190SL has reportedly been in Canada since the 1970s and was acquired by the selling dealer in July 2019, reportedly from its previous owner of 30 years. The car is finished in metallic blue with a blue soft top and interior, and power is from a 1.9-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. A new high-torque starter was installed in July 2019, and the dual Solex carburetors were rebuilt in May 2020. This 190SL is offered with a hardtop, a spare factory steering wheel, service records, and British Columbia registration. The car is finished in light metallic blue and is believed to have been repainted under previous ownership. Painted 13″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps with body-colored insets and are mounted with 175/70 Federal Super Steel 657 tires. The replacement blue soft top was installed under previous ownership and features a Kal Glas plastic rear window. A white two-spoke steering wheel has recently replaced a black version that is also included in the sale. Instrumentation includes a tachometer, a 140-mph speedometer, and a five-digit odometer showing just under 43k miles. Total mileage is unknown. The 1.9-liter M121 inline-four was rated at 104 horsepower with 105 lb-ft of torque when new. A high-torque starter was installed by Octagon Motor Group of Vancouver, British Columbia in July 2019, and the dual Solex side-draft carburetors were rebuilt along with adjustment of the choke cable in May 2020.
