This 1958 MG MGA Twin Cam coupe was converted to a right-hand-drive race car under prior ownership and has been campaigned in SOVREN, CSRG, and SVRA events since the late 1990s. Power is from a replacement 1.6L single-cam inline-four mated to a four-speed manual transmission, and the car is finished in black over a red interior. Equipment includes a louvered hood, a plexiglass rear window, a stainless-steel exhaust system with a SuperTrapp muffler, a fire suppression system, a six-point roll cage, an Accusump system, five-point harnesses, an aluminum radiator, 15″ center-lock Dunlop wheels, and four-wheel disc brakes. The car was last raced at Buttonwillow Raceway Park in May 2024 and was subsequently acquired by the seller. This MGA Twin Cam is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, a spare twin-cam engine and other parts, logbooks, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The car is finished in black and features a louvered hood with pins. The side windows and front bumper have been removed, and Union Jack covers have been added on the headlight lenses. Additional equipment includes a vented plexiglass rear window, an electrical cut-off switch, dual bullet-style mirrors, and front and rear tow straps. The 15″ center-lock Dunlop wheels are mounted with Avon tires measuring 185/70. The car is equipped with an independent front suspension with coil springs and hydraulic dampers as well as a rack-and-pinion steering system. Stopping power is provided by front and rear disc brakes. An adjustable front sway bar and rear panhard bar have been added. The bucket seats are upholstered in red with black piping and feature five-point harnesses. A six-point roll cage surrounds the cabin, and custom aluminum panels have been added along with a fire suppression system, radio blanking plate, a Wink racing mirror, a push-button start, and a quick-release steering wheel. Jaeger instrumentation includes  a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 8,600 miles, approximately five of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The replacement 1.6L single-cam inline-four features dual SU carburetors, a remote oil cooler and filter, and a fuel pressure regulator. An ATL fuel cell and an Accusump system are located in the trunk. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The stainless steel exhaust system features a SuperTrapp muffler. The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate shows the factory colors and equipment along with a build date in October 1958. The removed 1.6-liter Type BC16GB twin-cam inline-four accompanies the vehicle and is said to turn over freely. Filed under: mg, mg a
