This 1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider was refurbished under previous ownership with work involving refinishing the body in blue, refreshing the interior in tan leather, and installing a replacement 2.0L twin-cam inline-four and five-speed manual transmission. The car was acquired by the seller on BaT in January 2022, and it features dual Weber carburetors, 15″ Panasport-style wheels, front disc brakes, Koni shocks, a Nardi steering wheel, and Imasaf exhaust components. This Giulietta spider is now offered with a removed roll bar, service records, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name. The Giulietta was introduced at the 1954 Turin Auto Show with the Bertone-designed Sprint 2+2 coupe. The two-seat Spider was revealed the following year with bodywork by Pinin Farina. This example is said to have been stripped to bare metal and repainted in its current Dutch Blue as part of the refurbishment. Exterior details include chrome bumpers, dual side mirrors, bright trim, and a single exhaust outlet with a polished finisher. The car does not have a top, though a tonneau cover will accompany the sale. Silver-finished 15″ Panasport-style wheels are wrapped in 185/60 Pirelli P4 tires, as is a matching spare wheel located in the trunk compartment. The suspension is reportedly fitted with Koni shocks, and braking power is provided by front discs and rear drums. The reupholstered cabin features low-back bucket seats reportedly trimmed in Marrone Cuoio leather and fitted with latch-and-link lap belts. A black dash pad tops the body-colored metal dashboard, while rubber linings and Coco floor mats cover the black carpets. A radio blanking plate has been fitted in the dash. The previously-installed roll bar will accompany the vehicle. The Nardi steering wheel frames a 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset oil pressure gauge as well as a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge for oil temperature, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 2,800 miles, which is said to reflect the distance traveled since completion of the refurbishment. Approximately 500 miles have been added by the seller, and total mileage is unknown. The replacement 2.0-liter inline-four features dual Weber carburetors and is said to have been rebuilt under previous ownership. Additional work is noted to have involved installing a custom air intake manifold and engine mounts as well as overhauling the carburetors. An oil change was performed in May 2024. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement five-speed manual transmission. Imasaf exhaust components have been installed, and additional underside images are presented in the gallery below.
