$76,000
Make: Cadillac
Model: Cadillac Series 62
Year: 1959

This 1959 Cadillac Series 62 convertible was purchased by the seller’s father-in-law in 1963. It was fitted with replacement rear bodywork following a collision in the 1970s before it was inherited by the seller in 1988. Additional refurbishment work was performed in the 1990s, and service performed since 2019 has included the installation of a replacement water pump, fuel pump, aluminum radiator, battery, and tires as well as a brake service. The car is finished in pale pink over white leather upholstery, and power comes from a 390ci V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-operated white soft top, power steering, power-assisted four-wheel drum brakes, fender skirts, a power-adjustable front bench seat, and power windows. This Series 62 convertible is now offered with photos of the car from the 1970s, spare parts, and a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name. Cadillac offered four models for 1959, all measuring 225″ in overall length and featuring updated front and rear grilles, upright fins, and dual-bullet taillights. A total of 11,130 Series 62 convertibles were produced for the model year. Delivered from the factory in Ebony Black (10), this example is said to have been involved in a rear-end collision in the 1970s, and replacement rear bodywork was installed at that time. It was repainted in its current pale pink in the 1990s. Features include a power-operated white soft top, a driver-side mirror, and fender skirts. Spare trim pieces are included in the sale and can be seen in the gallery. The seller notes pitting in the chrome, a Cadillac badge is missing from the right-front fender, and the retractable antenna is bent. Steel wheels wear chrome covers and are mounted with Coker Classic whitewall bias-ply tires. A full-size spare wheel is stowed in the carpeted trunk. The car is equipped with power-assisted steering, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted drums at all four corners. A brake service was reportedly performed in 2019. The cabin features a power-adjustable front bench and rear seat trimmed in white leather along with color-matched door panels. Black carpets line the floors, and equipment includes power windows, and a heater and defroster. The AM radio is said to work intermittently, and the Autronic Eye headlight dimmer has not been used under the seller’s ownership. There is also a crack in the dash pad, the seller notes a catch in the passenger-side power-adjustable seat track, and missing upholstery buttons are reportedly included in the sale. The pink and black steering wheel features a chrome horn ring, and it frames a 120-mph speedometer along with gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 85k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under the seller’s ownership. The 390ci V8 was factory rated at 325 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. A replacement water pump, fuel pump, and battery were installed in 2019, and a replacement aluminum radiator was added in 2022. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Hydra-Matic four-speed automatic transmission. Corrosion on the undersides can be seen in the gallery.
