This 1959 Tatra OT-810 is an armored personnel carrier that was originally used by the Czechoslovakian military. It was imported to the US before it was acquired by the current owner in 2021. The half-track is finished in tan over red vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a Tatra air-cooled diesel V8 that drives the rear axle via a four-speed manual transmission. Features include an armored troop compartment with seating for 10, steerable rear tracks, and a roof-mounted machine gun turret. This OT-810 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner in Los Angeles, California, with tools and a bill of sale. The OT-810 was developed from the Sd.Kfz. 251 Hanomag, which were produced by various manufacturers for the German military during World War II. Fewer than 2,000 examples of the OT-810 were produced from 1958 and 1963, and they were used by the Czechoslovakian military until the final units were decommissioned in the 1990s. The welded steel body on this example is finished in tan and features dual taillights, armored sets of rear and roof-mounted doors, a machine gun turret, fender-mounted mufflers, and turn signals. The front wheels are mounted with 32×6″ bias-ply tires, while the rear tracks feature rubber-coated steel treads. The truck features a transverse leaf spring up front and a rear torsion bar setup. The rear brakes can operate independently, allowing for steerable tracks. The cockpit features a downward-facing steering wheel as well as hand and foot controls. Four folding seats trimmed in red vinyl are mounted up front. The steel dash houses a 100-km/h speedometer and an odometer showing 3,500 kilometers (~2,200 miles). Total mileage is unknown. Troop-style benches trimmed in red vinyl allow for seating for eight additional passengers. The air-cooled Tatra T-928-3 diesel V8 was factory rated at 122 horsepower, which is sent to the rear axle via a four-speed manual transmission. An oil change is said to have been performed under current ownership. Corrosion is noted on various surfaces by the seller. Additional underside photos are viewable in the gallery.
