This 1960 Chrysler New Yorker is one of 556 convertibles produced for the model year, and it is said to have been kept in Nevada with one family for 45 years prior to the seller’s acquisition of the vehicle in 2014. Powered by a 413ci Golden Lion V8 paired with a push-button three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, the car is finished in white with a power-operated black convertible top over black and red upholstery. Features include wheel covers, whitewall tires, power steering, power brakes, dual exhaust, swiveling front seats, power windows, an AstraDome instrument cluster, and a Golden Tone AM radio. This New Yorker convertible is now offered in Wisconsin with a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name. Finished from the factory in Alaskan White (WW1), the car has been repainted in white, according to the seller. The power-operated black convertible top has been replaced and is accompanied by a black top boot. The car has outward-swept tail fins, a faux spare-tire cover on the decklid, dual exhaust outlets, fender-mounted dual side mirrors, and chrome bumpers and trim. Touch-up paint is noted near the driver-side reverse-light bezel. Black-painted steel wheels are wrapped in whitewall tires. The vehicle was equipped from the factory with power steering, power-assisted four-wheel drum brakes, a pedal-operated parking brake, and Torsion-Aire torsion-bar suspension. The interior originally had red vinyl upholstery (338), and it has been retrimmed in black with red inserts. Appointments include swiveling front seats, power windows, remote side-mirror adjustment, a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, a Golden Tone AM radio, a clock, black carpeting, and red interior accents. The two-spoke steering wheel features transparent rim sections, and it frames an AstraDome instrument cluster housing a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for amperage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 69k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership. The 413ci Golden Lion wedge-head V8 was factory rated at 350 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a push-button-shifted three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery below.
