This 1960 Plymouth Fury is one of 7,080 convertible examples produced for the model year, and it underwent refurbishment work in the 1990s before it was purchased by the selling dealer in June 2024. The car is finished in white over red vinyl and cloth upholstery, and power comes from a 361ci Golden Commando V8 paired with a push-button three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a four-barrel carburetor, power-assisted drum brakes, power steering, a power-operated white soft top, an RCA under-dash record player, and a power-adjustable front seat. This Fury convertible is now offered in Minnesota with a Kansas title. The Fury was Plymouth’s top-of-the-line model for 1960, when a new unibody platform was introduced. This car was delivered from the factory in Oyster White (WW1) and features tail fins, chrome bumpers and trim, fender-mounted mirrors, a power-operated white soft top, a red top boot, and reverse lights. White-painted 14″ steel wheels feature red and blue pinstriping as well as chrome covers, and they are mounted with 215/75 Hankook Optimo whitewall tires. The Fury rode on a 118″ wheelbase for 1960 and featured an independent torsion-bar front suspension plus a live rear axle with leaf springs. The car was equipped from the factory with power steering and power-assisted drum brakes. The refreshed cabin features front and rear bench seating trimmed in red and white vinyl with textured cloth inserts complemented by black carpeting and bright trim. Equipment includes a push-button AM radio, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, an RCA Victor under-dash record player, and a power-adjustable front bench with an asymmetrical seatback. The air-conditioning system does not blow cold, the dashtop speaker grille is cracked, and wear on the door panels can be seen in the photo gallery below. The rectangular steering wheel features transparent segments, and it fronts a tiered dash fascia topped with a Teleview instrument pod housing a 120-mph speedometer, directional indicators, and warning lamps for amperage and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 93k miles. The 361ci Golden Commando V8 features a four-barrel carburetor topped with a gold-painted air cleaner. Output was factory rated at 305 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a push-button three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The dual exhaust system has glasspack mufflers. Corrosion is visible on underbody components. The trim tag contains the following information: A3 – TorqueFlite transmission B1 – Power steering C2 – Power brakes D3 – Six-way power-adjustable front seat R2 – White convertible top SO 0503 – May 3 scheduled build date NUMBER 1020 – Sequential build number BDY 335 – Plymouth Fury V8 convertible body style TRM 124 – Red vinyl and cloth upholstery PNT WW1 – Oyster White paint The Kansas title carries an “Antique” notation.
