This 1961 Willys Jeep Utility Wagon was acquired by the seller in 2018 and subsequently modified including installation of a 1977 F-150-sourced frame as well as a 2014 F-150-sourced 5.0-liter Coyote V8 and 6R80 six-speed automatic transmission. The body was repainted in two-tone turquoise and the interior was refreshed with a custom center console as well as a replacement steering column, a GPS-enabled Haneline combination gauge, and an Old Air Products air conditioning system. Additional equipment includes a Borg Warner dual-range transfer case, a Dana 44 front axle, a 9″ rear end, power steering, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, 16″ alloy wheels, a receiver hitch, and a Ron Francis Wiring engine wiring kit. This modified 1961 Willys is now offered with handwritten build records and a California title in the seller’s name. The body was removed from the frame, stripped to bare metal, coated with an epoxy primer, and refinished in two-tone turquoise under current ownership. Additional work carried out at that time included replacing the window glass and weather seals. Exterior details include a two-piece windshield, a split tailgate, gray-finished bumpers, black-finished side steps, and a receiver hitch. Dents are visible on the side moldings. The 16″ 12-hole alloy wheels are mounted with 285/75 Thunderer Trac Grip M/T tires. Manually locking front hubs are equipped up front along with dual shocks. The truck rides on a lifted suspension and features power steering as well as power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The split front bench and individual rear seats were reupholstered in turquoise vinyl as part of the refurbishment. Additional work included applying a thermal liner to portions of the interior and installing sound deadening material as well as replacing the door and side panels. The custom center console features an F-150-sourced shifter, while the transfer case control exits the floor within the driver-side footwell. Additional equipment includes an Old Air Products air conditioning system, a Jegs 22-circuit wiring harness, and front lap belts. A replacement Jeep steering wheel and column fronts a centrally mounted GPS-enabled Haneline combination gauge with a 140-mph speedometer and inset auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 77 miles, and total mileage is unknown. The Ford 5.0-liter Coyote V8 and 6R80 six-speed automatic transmission are said to have been sourced from a 2014 F-150 and were installed using a Ron Francis Wiring Telorvek engine wiring kit. The battery has been relocated to the rear cargo area, and additional modifications include a remote air conditioning condenser and transmission cooler as well as a custom exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a Borg Warner 4417 dual-range transfer case linked with a Dana 44 high-pinion front axle and a 9″ rear end. The replacement frame was sourced from a 1977 Ford F-15o and was stripped to bare metal and coated with an epoxy primer before installation, according to the seller. The reproduction data plate displays serial number 5416858220, which is consistent with a 1961 Willys Jeep Utility Wagon built with a 226ci inline-six and four-wheel drive. The truck is listed as a 1961 American Motors automobile on the current California title, a redacted copy of which is presented in the gallery.
