This 1962 Austin-Healey Sprite Mk II was converted into a race car under previous ownership in the 2000s and was subsequently campaigned in regional SVRA, HSR, and RMVR events before being acquired by the seller in 2019. The car is finished in a two-tone orange and yellow race livery and features a stripped interior with a single Sparco carbon-fiber bucket seat and a roll cage. Power is provided by an overbored 1,275cc inline-four that is said to be fitted with JE forged pistons, Carillo connecting rods, and a Huffaker camshaft and valve springs. The engine is linked to a four-speed manual dog-ring gearbox and a Spridget rear axle housing with a Quaife limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes 13” Panasport wheels, four-piston front brake calipers, a Safecraft fire suppression system, a Fuel Safe fuel cell, a Setrab aluminum oil cooler, a Speedwell Engineering aluminum radiator, and more as described below. A 1999 Haulmark enclosed trailer finished in a matching orange and yellow livery will accompany the vehicle and features a rear ramp door, an electric winch, dual axles, and 15″ wheels. This Sprite race car and enclosed trailer are now offered at no reserve with a collection of racing equipment, tools, and various spare parts as well as an RMVR logbook, a bill of sale for the car, and a clean Colorado title for the trailer. The body was repainted in its current two-tone orange and yellow racing livery under current ownership. Additional exterior details include a removable front clip, a Lexan windscreen, a lightened hood, modified valences, aluminum headlight covers, and front and rear tow hooks. Noted flaws include a dent below the left taillight as well as paint chips on the left door and below the right taillight. Gray-finished 13” Panasport Pro Rally wheels are mounted with Avon 5.0/22-13 ACB9 A25 racing tires that are said to have been used for six races. Stopping power is provided by Kent Auto Developments (KAD) four-piston calipers mounted over Brembo rotors up front along with vented rear drums with Mintex shoes. Suspension modifications and equipment are said to include the following: Winner’s Circle front coil springs Armstrong front shocks with MGB valves Speedwell Engineering 3/4″ front sway bar Rear quarter-elliptic leaf springs World-Wide Imports adjustable rear shocks Rear radius rods Rear Panhard rod Tilton Engineering brake and clutch primary cylinders A spare set of 13″ Panasport wheels with Avon 6.0/22-13 tires will accompany the vehicle and can be viewed in the gallery. The stripped cabin is finished in gray and houses a single Sparco carbon-fiber fixed-back bucket seat with a Schroth five-point rotary-release harness. Additional equipment includes a roll cage, a Safecraft fire suppression system, and a Tilton Engineering pedal assembly. A Canton oil accumulator, EarthX lithium battery, and custom fuse block are mounted within the right-side footwell, and the car is equipped with a MyLaps X2 Transponder. The three-spoke MOMO Race Evo steering wheel is fitted to a quick-release hub and sits ahead of an AutoMeter ProComp 2 Ultralite Memory tachometer. Supplementary gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, water temperature, exhaust gas temperature, and air/fuel ratio are mounted within the aluminum dash along with an electrical system kill switch. The car does not have an odometer and total mileage is unknown. The car is equipped with a trunk-mounted Fuel Safe fuel cell as well as dual inline Holley electric fuel pumps. The car is powered by a replacement 1,275cc inline-four that is said to have been rebuilt by Huffaker Motorsports with a 0.020″ overbore. Further drivetrain modifications are said to include: Quartermaster flywheel Tilton Engineering clutch Spridget rear axle housing Quaife Trans-X limited-slip differential with 4.20:1 gearing Winner’s Circle axle shafts and double-bearing hubs The enclosed Haulmark trailer measures approximately 20′ in length and is finished in white with orange and yellow accents. Equipment includes a rear ramp door, a side access door, a coupler lock, a jack, a load leveling system, dual axles, white-painted 15″ steel wheels mounted with 205/75 Towmax STR tires. The interior of the trailer features storage shelves, a Craftsman tool chest, a compressed air tank, and an electric winch. An assortment of racing equipment, tools, and spare parts are included in the sale along with a Nomex racing suit and full-face helmet featuring the car’s orange and yellow livery.
