This 1963 Buick Special station wagon was acquired by the seller in Arizona in 2015 and relocated to Wisconsin, where it was subsequently refurbished and modified. The car is finished in tan over a matching interior and powered by a turbocharged 3.8-liter Buick V6 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Features include air suspension, Wilwood disc brakes, rack-and-pinion steering, a four-link rear end, a custom exhaust system, and more as described below. This turbocharged Buick wagon is now offered with service records and receipts, refurbishment photos, and a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name. The car wears an older repaint in tan and wear is present on the painted surfaces. Features include chrome trim and bumpers, a driver-side mirror, and three VentiPorts on each front fender. Aftermarket five-spoke wheels wear GNX-branded center caps. Frame modifications were carried out to accommodate a Mustang II front end, tubular upper and lower front A-arms, and a four-link rear end. Ridetech Shockwave air shocks are fitted all-around and paired with a RidePro auto-leveling air system mounted in the spare tire well. Four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes and a Wilwood master cylinder are installed. Scrapes are visible on the wheels, and a spare set of steel wheels with tires is included in the sale and depicted in the gallery. The reupholstered interior features front bucket seats from a Skylark and the center console from a Buick Wildcat. Equipment includes an AM radio and a power rear window. The horn is removed and scrapes are visible on the left rear door panel. Instrumentation includes a horizontal 120-mph GPS retrofitted speedometer, a Buick Wildcat tachometer, and aftermarket gauges mounted across the dashboard. The tachometer is said to be refurbished and recalibrated. The five-digit odometer shows just under 100k miles, approximately 9k of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown. The turbocharged and intercooled 3.8-liter V6 is said to have been sourced from a 1987 Buick Grand National. The engine was installed during current ownership and reportedly rebuilt in September 2020 with the following: Garrett TA49 turbocharger Champion iron cylinder heads Roller cam and lifters Billet main caps ARP bolts Ceramic-coated intake manifold and valve covers Aluminum pulleys Cometic gaskets 60-lb fuel injectors Aeromotive Phantom fuel pump Custom aluminum radiator Casper’s Electronics wiring harness The seller notes a fuel leak when the tank is filled to capacity. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TH200-4R four-speed automatic transmission and a Currie 9-inch rear end with a Strange Engineering center section and a Detroit Truetrac 3.55:1 limited-slip differential. The transmission tunnel was altered to accommodate the transmission. A custom stainless steel exhaust is fitted with a MagnaFlow muffler. Photos of the refurbishment are provided in the gallery below.
