This 1965 Acadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe convertible was acquired by the seller in April 2024 following a refurbishment that consisted of installing a 5.7-liter LS6 V8, a GM TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, and QA1 coilover suspension. Other equipment includes an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley carburetor, MSD ignition components, an aluminum radiator, Hooker cast-iron headers, a 3″ exhaust system, Flowmaster mufflers, a 12-bolt rear end, and a limited-slip differential. The car rides on Ridler 20″ wheels, and braking is handled by Wilwood discs. The bodywork has been refinished in black with gray stripes and chrome accents, and it features a power-operated black soft top. The interior has been reupholstered in black vinyl and contains a Bluetooth-capable stereo, a Grant wood-rimmed steering wheel, and AutoMeter instrumentation. This modified Acadian is now offered with a Texas title in the seller’s name. The Acadian brand was produced by General Motors for the Canadian market from 1962 to 1971, and the Chevelle-based Acadian Beaumont was introduced in 1964. This example was originally finished in Danube Blue (E), and under prior ownership its bodywork was stripped and repainted in black accented by gray hood and trunk stripes as well as chrome trim. Other refurbishment work involved installing replacement bumpers, door handles, quarter panels, window channels, and weatherstripping. The power-operated black soft top features Haartz cloth and a glass rear window. The passenger-side windshield wiper is missing, and imperfections are noted in the finish of the grille. Polished 20″ Ridler wheels are mounted with Nitto tires in sizes 245/30 at the front and 285/30 out back. The car rides on a QA1 adjustable coilover suspension with tubular control arms, and black Wilwood brake calipers are fitted over cross-drilled and slotted discs. The car is equipped with power steering. The front bucket and rear bench seats were reupholstered in black vinyl during the refurbishment. Features include tinted glass, a carbon-fiber-style dashboard insert, a center console, and black carpeting. A Chevrolet-branded Bluetooth-capable Custom Autosound head unit is wired to two Rockford Fosgate amplifiers and five speakers. A wood-rimmed Grant steering wheel is mounted to a tilting column, and it fronts AutoMeter instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, battery voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates approximately 700 miles, which is said to reflect the distance accumulated since completion of the build. The car has been repowered with a 5.7-liter LS6 V8, and equipment includes a custom air intake, a Holley Quick Fuel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Be Cool aluminum radiator, MSD ignition components, and a Painless wiring harness. Hooker cast-iron headers and Flowmaster mufflers are part of a stainless-steel exhaust system with 3″ piping. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a GM TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, a high-stall torque converter, a 12-bolt rear end, and a Positraction limited-slip differential. The Texas title carries a “VIN Certification Waived” notation in the remarks section. Filed under: chevelle
