Make: Lincoln
Model: Lincoln Continental (1961-1969)
Year: 1965

This 1965 Lincoln Continental convertible was acquired by the seller in 1998 and subsequently underwent refurbishment work in 2007 that involved re-trimming the interior, replacing the instrument panel, and rebuilding the three-speed automatic transmission. The car is finished in black over red vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 430ci V8 equipped with a four-barrel carburetor. Additional equipment includes 15″ steel wheels with polished covers along with power-assisted front disc brakes, power steering, a power-operated black convertible top, a power-adjustable front bench, air conditioning, and a CD stereo. This Continental convertible is now offered in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, with a shop manual, service records, spare parts, a car cover, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name. The car was finished from the factory in Black Satin and the seller notes evidence that it has been repainted. Exterior details include a power-operated black convertible top, quad headlights, rear-hinged rear doors, a driver-side mirror, a retractable antenna, and chrome bumpers and trim. The soft top is a replacement unit. The 15″ steel wheels feature polished covers and were mounted with 235/75 Coker American Classic whitewall tires in 2023. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The cabin houses bench seating that was reupholstered in red vinyl as part of the aforementioned refurbishment work in 2007. A CD stereo has been added, and further amenities include air conditioning, a power-adjustable front bench seat, and power windows and door locks. The power right-rear window operates intermittently. A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 3k miles, and the seller states that approximately 10k miles have been added under their ownership. The dash and instrument panel have been replaced, and total mileage is unknown. The 430ci V8 was factory equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and produced 320 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque when new. The seller notes difficulty starting the engine. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Twin-Range Turbo-Drive three-speed automatic transmission and a rear axle with 2.89:1 gearing. The transmission was rebuilt and a replacement driveshaft was installed in 2007. The seller recommends adjusting the neutral safety switch.
