This 1965 Porsche 911 coupe is powered by a numbers-matching 2.4L flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle and is finished in Bali Blue over tan upholstery. The car was built on August 9, 1965, and it was purchased by the current owner out of Illinois in 2010 and imported to Canada. It subsequently underwent a multi-year refurbishment that was completed in 2013. Features include a wood-rimmed steering wheel, teak wood interior trim, a Becker Europa radio, Zenith carburetors, and a Dansk stainless-steel muffler and heat exchangers. A May 2021 service included a brake fluid flush, an oil change, and the installation of a new battery. This 911 is now offered on dealer consignment in Canada with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, refurbishment photos and records, and Alberta registration. Originally finished in Togo Brown (6411), the car was sent to Original Restorations of Courtenay, British Columbia, for bodywork and a repaint in its current Bali Blue before it was reassembled by Concept 1 of Calgary, Alberta. Features include Hella headlights and foglights, four-screw horn grilles, a collapsible antenna, chrome lower rocker trim, gold rear badging, and chrome bumperettes. This is a re-list after the vehicle previously sold on BaT in August 2021 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle. The winner has been banned from future participation on BaT and their buyer’s fee was not refunded. The 15″ ventilated steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. A matching spare wheel is fitted in the front trunk. The suspension features Bilstein rear dampers, and braking is handled by discs at all four corners. A brake fluid flush was performed in May 2021. Delivered from the factory with black leatherette upholstery, the seats were retrimmed in tan during the refurbishment and are complemented by matching door panels and carpets. Equipment includes teak wood trim, a Becker Europa radio, lap belts, and a rubber floor mat. The factory Webasto heater has been removed. The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames VDO green-letter instrumentation including a 150-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, auxiliary gauges, and a clock. The five-digit odometer shows under 20k miles, 500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The flat-six features twin Zenith carburetors and was rebuilt and enlarged to 2.4-liters by Alpine Autowerks of Calgary, Alberta, in February 2011. A new battery was installed and an oil change was performed in May 2021. An oil leak is noted from the timing chain housing covers. Engine stamping *901958* matches the engine number listed on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Transaxle stamping 101860 also matches the CoA and can be viewed in the gallery. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Type 901 five-speed manual transaxle. A Dansk stainless-steel muffler and heat exchangers were fitted during the refurbishment. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity displays a completion date of August 9, 1965, and lists the factory colors, equipment, and powertrain numbers. A collection of photos taken before and during the refurbishment can be seen in the gallery along with records from the work. Filed under: 911, long hood, longhood
