This 1965 Porsche 911 coupe was delivered new in Paris, France in June of 1965 and was later converted into a race car. In the 2000s it was campaigned in vintage racing events at Le Mans, Nurburgring, and Spa, among other European tracks. The car was acquired a decade ago in Paris by the current owner and subsequently moved to Spain, where a refurbishment was carried out in 2012. Power is from a 2.0-liter flat-six that was rebuilt to later 911S specifications and is fitted with six Solex carburetors. Additional equipment includes a five-speed manual transaxle, lightweight flywheel, SACHS clutch, bolt-in roll cage, through-the-hood fuel filler, and Bilstein shock absorbers. This 911 race car is now offered on dealer consignment in Burgos, Spain with refurbishment documentation, an FIA Historic Technical Passport, a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche Ibérica, and Spanish historical vehicle registration. The body shell was stripped and refinished during the 2012 refurbishment, which was carried out by Baltasar e Hijos in Madrid, Spain. The chassis was reportedly straightened and reinforced, and areas of rust were repaired before the body was finished with aluminum paste, primer, silicone sealer, and a top coat of 1967 Porsche color Medium Ivory (17657). A racing stripe and Porsche script were applied using green vinyl. The engine lid and grille were replaced, and the doors and front hood were adjusted. 15” Fuchs wheels feature green centers with polished rims and wear Michelin racing tires that show wear. Probes are in place on each front wheel for use with rally computers. Suspension work during the 2012 refurbishment included repair and adjustment of the Bilstein shock absorbers, as well as replacement of bushings, bearings, and ball joints. Inside, Sparco racing seats are each fitted with six-point harnesses. Additional equipment includes a bolt-in roll cage, fire-suppressant system, black door panels with green pull straps, a black dash, and a black headliner. The electrical system has been updated, and a rear fog light was added along with a dash-mounted switch. A three-spoke steering wheel frames a 250-km/h VDO speedometer and an 8k-rpm Stack tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows just over 3k kilometers (~1,800 miles), which is said to reflect distance driven since the refurbishment. The 2.0-liter 901/01 flat-six was reportedly modified during previous ownership to 911S specifications and was rebuilt during the 2012 refurbishment. Six Solex carburetors are fitted, along with three electric fuel pumps. The engine shroud and fan blades have been painted green, matching the accents on the car’s exterior. A maintenance service was reportedly performed 100 kilometers ago. Number 901788 is shown stamped on the engine case in the gallery and matches the number on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle, and a SACHS competition clutch and lightweight flywheel were installed during the 2012 refurbishment. The car is shown above racing in the 2012 Le Mans Classic prior to the refurbishment. It is also said to have competed in the Le Mans Classic in 2004 and 2006, and additional vintage racing history reportedly included: Spa Francorchamps 2006 Nuburgring Classic 2005 Magny-Cours 2005, 2006 Montlhery 2006 Hockenheim Classic 2005 Cadwell Park Classic 2007 Thruxton Classic 2005 Pau Grand Prix 2012 Angouleme Grand Prix 2012 Paul Ricard 2012 Imola 2012 The Certificato de Autenticidad from Porsche Ibérica lists the original colors as Polo red over black leatherette, as well as other original equipment details. The FIA passport is pictured in the gallery along with documents describing the refurbishment and photos from before and after the project. A walk around can be viewed in the video below.
