This 1967 Austin Mini Cooper Mk I was converted to a racing car by a previous owner, and it was acquired by the seller in 1995. It is powered by a 1,310cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential, and it is finished in red with white and blue accents. Other equipment includes 10″ Minilite wheels with vintage-style Hoosier race tires, a roll cage, an Ultra Shield racing seat, adjustable suspension, a Calver Special Tuning cylinder head, a Kent 310 scatter-pattern camshaft, a Weber 45 DCOE carburetor, a Canton Accusump oil accumulator, a three-piece AP Racing clutch, and a remote fire suppression system. This Mk I Cooper race car has participated in NASA and other vintage racing events, and it is now offered with a spare engine and gearbox, spare wheels and tires, two spare cylinder heads, other spare parts, racing logbooks, and a bill of sale. The body is finished in red with white numbers and Union Jack graphics on the roof, and modifications include a quick-release front clip and rear hatch panel. Other features include a chrome grille and trim, a front tow hook, black wheel-arch flares, side mirrors, Lexan windows, a cowl-mounted battery disconnect switch, and a single exhaust outlet. The seller notes the left floor pan was replaced in 1995. Silver 10″ Minilite wheels are mounted with 19.0×5.0-10 HOTD R Hoosier vintage-style race tires. Braking is handled by Cooper S discs up front with competition pads and slotted rotors, as well as finned rear drums and a custom master cylinder setup with a dash-mounted brake bias adjuster. Suspension modifications include SPAX adjustable dampers, adjustable lower control arms, a Hi-Lo adjustable suspension package, and front and rear sway bars. The left-hand-drive interior was stripped, a roll cage was fitted, and gray paint was applied. Equipment includes a black Ultra Shield racing seat, an OMP six-point harness, a Phoenix remote fire-suppression system, and a floor-mounted switch panel, battery, and oil accumulator. A Fuel Safe 10-gallon fuel cell is mounted in the rear compartment and is accompanied by a Holley electric fuel pump with a braided stainless-steel fuel line routed through the cabin of the car to the engine. The removable three-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel fronts a custom dash panel that houses AutoMeter Pro-Comp gauges, along with a steering column-mounted tachometer, a shift light, and a Tilton remote brake bias adjustment knob. No speedometer or odometer are present, and total chassis mileage is unknown. The carbureted 1,310cc inline-four was reportedly recently rebuilt by Ignite Performance of Arvada, Colorado, using an overbored 1,275cc engine block, and components include an A+ block, a Paul Ivey crankshaft, JE custom pistons, Carillo connecting rods, a Kent 310 scatter-pattern camshaft, a Calver Special Tuning cylinder head, Fortech valve springs, 1.5:1 Swiftune rockers, and competition-spec extended length pushrods, along with a windage tray, central oil pickup, and ARP hardware. The seller states the engine has only been used for approximately one hour of break-in testing and still contains break-in oil. Additional equipment is said to include: Weber 45 DCOE carburetor with long intake SH Engineering timing belt drive system 123 A+ distributor Cooper S crankshaft pulley with competition crankshaft balancer Fortech solid engine mounts Maniflow LCB ceramic-coated exhaust header Oil cooler with spin-on oil filter adapter Two-quart Canton Accusump oil accumulator Deka battery Power is sent to the front wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle that was recently rebuilt by Ignite Performance with a Swiftune “dog box” rod change gear set. Other equipment includes an AP Racing three-piece clutch, a KAD aluminum flywheel, a Quaife limited-slip differential, and a Swiftune 3.9:1 final drive. Spare parts include an extra engine and gearbox along with a Longman cylinder head, a Calver Special Tuning cylinder head, an EN40 balanced steel crankshaft, a spare set of four Minilite wheels with Hoosier vintage race tires, and other miscellaneous parts. The seller notes the spare engine is an A-block, and both the spare engine and gearbox are in need of a rebuild. The car is being offered on a bill of sale. A Colorado title in the seller’s name will accompany the car, but the VIN on the title does not match any current identification numbers on the vehicle. A redacted version of the title is included in the gallery.
