Make: Plymouth
Model: Plymouth Road Runner
Year: 1969

This 1969 Plymouth Road Runner convertible was acquired by the seller’s father circa the mid-1990s, and it is powered by a 383ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Finished in yellow with black stripes over a black vinyl interior, the car is equipped with a power-operated black vinyl convertible top, Magnum 500–style 14″ wheels, power brakes, power steering, a dual exhaust system, and a push-button AM radio. Ownership of the car was transferred to the seller in 2016. This Road Runner is now offered with an Ohio title in the seller’s name. The car was finished from the factory in Sunfire Yellow (Y2) and has matte-black hood accents and white side stripes. Exterior features include a power-operated black vinyl soft top, an Air Grabber–style hood, 383 and Road Runner badging, dual side mirrors, bright rocker-panel moldings, and chrome bumpers. The seller notes the presence of a paint drip below the driver-side door handle. Most of the photos in the gallery below were taken in March 2024. Magnum 500–style 14″ wheels are mounted with Goodyear Wingfoot HP tires. The four-wheel drum brakes are power assisted, as is the steering. The interior features bench seats trimmed in black vinyl with a matching dash pad, door panels, and carpeting. Appointments include a heater/defroster, Pentastar-embroidered floor mats, and a Chrysler Solid State push-button AM radio. A three-spoke steering wheel equipped with a semi-circular horn ring and a Road Runner “Beep Beep” horn button fronts a 120-mph speedometer along with gauges for alternator status, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 23k miles, approximately 500 of which were driven under current ownership. True mileage is unknown. The 383ci V8 features a four-barrel carburetor, chrome Direct Connection valve covers, and cast-iron exhaust manifolds flowing into dual rear-exit pipes equipped with glasspack-style mufflers. The windshield-washer-fluid reservoir has been replaced under current ownership. The oil was changed in anticipation of the sale, and an oil leak is noted by the seller. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Corrosion is evident on underbody components. Decoding the fender tag reveals the car to be a 1969 Road Runner convertible (RM27) that left the factory with a 335-horsepower 383ci V8 (E63), a heavy-duty A727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission (D32), Sunfire Yellow paint (Y2), white side stripes (V6W), and deluxe black vinyl bench seats (H2X). The Ohio title lists a “non-actual warning: odometer discrepancy” mileage brand.
