This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS was initially delivered to Red Deer Motors of Alberta, Canada, and was acquired by the seller in 2003 and subsequently refurbished. Work included repainting the car, powder-coating the frame and suspension components, rebuilding the transmission, replacing the glass, and re-trimming the interior. The car is powered by an LS6 454ci V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a Positraction differential, and it is finished in green with white stripes over green vinyl upholstery. Features include a cowl-induction hood, a Gardner dual exhaust system, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, 14” Super Sport wheels, an analog clock, a push-button AM radio, and power windows. This Chevelle is now offered in Canada with a General Motors of Canada build datasheet and an Alberta registration document. The car was repainted in green with white stripes under current ownership. Exterior details include chrome bumpers, quad headlamps, hood pins, bright trim, SS 454 badging, a black grille and tail panel, and polished dual exhaust finishers. Work under current ownership is said to consist of polishing the bright metal trim, re-plating chrome components, and replacing the glass, rear quarter panels, exhaust tips, and exterior emblems. The 14″ Super Sport wheels wear bright trim rings and are mounted with F70-14 Firestone Wide Oval Super Sports tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench reupholstered in green vinyl and accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard, headliner, and door panels. Equipment includes a center console, a push-button radio, a horseshoe-style shifter, power windows, lap belts, and Chevrolet-branded black rubber floormats. Legendary Interiors components were reportedly used to re-trim the interior. A toggle switch and wiring are hanging down below the left side of the dashboard. The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 100k miles, approximately 20k of which have been added under current ownership. The LS6 454ci V8 was factory-rated at 450 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque and features a cowl induction system, a four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake manifold, and chrome valve covers. The engine code and serial number are displayed on the stamping above. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission and a Positraction differential. The transmission is said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment. A Gardner dual exhaust system has been fitted. The General Motors of Canada build datasheet shows a January 9, 1970 shipping date and lists equipment and colors. The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a province that does not issue titles for vehicles. It is being sold on its expired Alberta registration.
