For some reason, Ford was only able to move 7,673 Mustang convertibles for the 1970 model year, which is surprising given that it had sold nearly 15,000 the year prior, and 25,000 the year before that. That makes any ’70 Mustang convertible somewhat uncommon, but this one takes it further by being factory equipped with the then-new 351 Cleveland engine in M-code form, which meant four-barrel. That was considered a high-performance engine, with high compression and big-port cylinder heads. The original buyer also got a four-speed manual, further increasing this pony’s performance-oriented nature, yet the rest of the order yielded a somewhat subdued ‘Stang: Ivy Green paint, black interior and top, and base-spec hubcaps. Years later, someone recognized this Mustang’s uniqueness and restored it to the form it was in when first delivered, and it looks to be very nicely detailed. This is an unusual example of a popular model, and seemingly in great shape. -TM
