This 1971 Intermeccanica Italia is one of approximately 240 Spyder examples produced between 1967 and 1973. Chassis 50390414 was manufactured in September 1970 and was reportedly delivered new to its first owner in California before the current owner purchased it out of Oregon in 2014. The car is finished in red over tan leather upholstery, and power comes from a 351ci Ford V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include an Edelbrock Weber Model 1406 four-barrel carburetor, an ANSA quad-exit exhaust, 15″ Dayton wire wheels, LED fog lights, a black soft top, power windows, and an Alpine CD stereo. This Italia is now offered on dealer consignment with tools, a set of four 14″ Cromodora wheels, air conditioning equipment, and a clean California title in the name of the owner’s trust. The Italia was based on a Robert Cumberford design that was refined and revised by Franco Scaglione before it debuted as the Griffith 600 at the 1966 New York Motor Show. The hand-formed steel bodywork of this example was reportedly delivered from the factory in red and was repainted a different shade under previous ownership. Equipment includes a “Prancing Bull” grille badge, LED fog lights, fender vents, an antenna, Shelby-style side-view mirrors, push-button door handles, an ANSA quad-exit exhaust, a tan top boot, and a black soft top. The 15″ Dayton wire wheels are mounted with 185/65 Continental ContiProContact tires. A spare wheel is stowed under a carpeted cover in the trunk, and a set of four Cromodora 14×6½” wheels are included in the sale. The suspension features an independent front setup with telescopic shocks as well as a live rear axle with trailing arms, coil springs, and a Panhard rod. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners. The cockpit features bucket seats trimmed in tan leather along with a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, and door panels. Brown carpets line the floors, and additional equipment includes power windows, an Alpine CD stereo, cup holders, and latch-and-link lap belts. Air conditioning equipment has been removed from the car, and it can be seen in the gallery. The selling dealer notes wear on the leather upholstery. The wood-rimmed steering wheel features a “Prancing Bull” center cap, and it frames Jaeger instrumentation including a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 180-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 81k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The 351ci V8 features an Edelbrock Weber Model 1406 600-cfm four-barrel carburetor as well as a chrome air cleaner and “Powered by Ford” valve covers. An oil change was performed in May 2024. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
