This 1972 March 722 is one of approximately 20 examples produced for Formula 2 competition. Chassis 722/8 was driven by Hiroshi Kazato for Peter Bloore Racing in 12 races during the 1972 European F2 season. It later spent time in England and the US, reportedly undergoing a refurbishment in 2005. It was moved to Australia in 2012 before it was purchased by the current owner and imported to the UK in 2018. The car is finished in red with a 1972-style livery, and power comes from a replacement fuel-injected 2.0-liter Cosworth BDG inline-four paired with a Hewland FT200 five-speed manual transaxle. Features include four-wheel disc brakes with inboard rear units, Koni adjustable coilovers, a Sabelt harness, Smiths instrumentation, and a fire-suppression system. This March is now offered on dealer consignment in Poole, England, with a collection of spare parts, FIA documentation, a copy of an essay written by Hiroshi Kazato’s father, and a bill of sale. The 722 was introduced by March Engineering in 1972, with variants designed for Formula 2, Formula Atlantic, and Formula B competition. This example features fiberglass bodywork finished in red and wears a replica Firestone/Orient Watch Company livery. Equipment includes front and rear wings, dual side-view mirrors, and a chrome roll hoop. A number of photos in the gallery were taken in November 2020. The 13″ aluminum alloy center-lock wheels are finished in black and are mounted with Avon slicks. The tubular steel frame features unequal-length upper and lower wishbones at all four corners as well as Koni adjustable coilovers and a rack-and-pinion steering system. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard rear units.  The cockpit features a Sabelt harness, an electrical cutoff switch, and a fire-suppression system. The Racetech steering wheel frames a Smiths 10,400-rpm central tachometer as well as combination gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, fuel pressure, and oil temperature. The replacement Cosworth BDG inline-four was reportedly installed in 2005 and is fitted with Lucas fuel injection, a dry sump lubrication system, and a Lucas CDI ignition system. A plaque from S. Jennings Racing of Santa Ana, California, is affixed to the camshaft cover. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Hewland FT200 five-speed manual gearbox. The collection of spare parts can be seen in the gallery and include the following: Front nose cone Front and rear wings Engine cover lid Side pods Suspension components Brake pads Front rollbar Rear uprights Engine components Pistons Spare camshaft belts Wheel spacers Rear driveshaft Exhaust silencer The included FIA Historic Technical Passport was issued on March 19, 2012, and expired in March 2022. The car does not have a title, as it is a race car not intended for street use. It is being sold on a bill of sale.
