This 1973 Triumph TR6 was acquired by the seller in 2005 and underwent a refurbishment from 2019-2021 that included a repaint in Sapphire blue, rechromed bumpers, a refreshed blue interior, and work on the brakes, clutch, fuel system, and differential. The car is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six paired with a rebuilt four-speed manual transmission with overdrive and is equipped with a factory removable hardtop, a black convertible soft top, 15″ steel wheels with polished rings, redline tires, a stainless-steel dual exhaust system, an AM/FM radio, and a heater. This TR6 is offered with a top boot, a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, manufacturer’s literature, a hardtop stand, and a Washington title in the seller’s name. The car was factory finished in Sapphire blue and was repainted during the 2019-2021 refurbishment, at which time the weatherstripping was replaced. A black convertible soft top with reflective stripes is fitted along with rechromed bumpers, a plastic air dam, Union Jack decals, and dual side mirrors. A color-matched factory hardtop with a stand is included in the sale along with a blue top boot. Silver-finished 15″ steel wheels feature polished trim rings and wear 185-series Coker redline radial tires with 2021 date codes. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes, and the seller states the brake master cylinder, calipers, rear shoes, and wheel cylinders were replaced. The bucket seats were reportedly overhauled with new foam and diaphragms before being reupholstered in Shadow Blue vinyl, and the carpet, door panels, and dash pad were replaced. A back-up hood release is fitted along with an AM/FM radio, a locking glovebox, a wood shift knob, and a heater. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts reconditioned instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer, while gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level are mounted in the center of the wood-veneer dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 62k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. The 2.5-liter inline-six features dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors that reportedly were rebuilt. A PerTronix ignition system was fitted along with a new fuel pump and a stainless-steel dual exhaust system. Compression test results are presented in the gallery. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission that reportedly was rebuilt, at which time a J-Type overdrive was fitted. The clutch hydraulics were replaced along with the throwout bearing, fork, and shaft, and a hardened taper pin was installed. The differential received new axle and pinion seals. A leak is noted from the pinion seal. The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate shows factory colors and options along with a build date of May 11, 1973 followed by dispatch to Jacksonville, Florida, on June 9, 1973. The car is titled using its engine number as the VIN, and the Washington title lists an Antique brand.
