This 1974 BMW 2002 Turbo is one of 1,672 examples built during a two-year production period and was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023 from the son of the previous owner of over 40 years. Reportedly stripped and repainted its current silver with multi-color stripes in 1980, the car is powered by a turbocharged 2.0L inline-four mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. An aftermarket Sachs suspension kit, 15″ BBS RS modular wheels, and Carat front bucket seats have been added, and additional equipment includes a Turbo-specific body kit, a sunroof, Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection, and a push-button radio. This 2002 Turbo is offered by the selling dealer in Germany with German registration documents. The selling dealer states that the body was stripped and galvanized in 1980, after which it was refinished in silver. Features include a Turbo-specific body kit consisting of a front air dam, body-color fender flares, and a rear spoiler. Additional exterior details include a manually-operated sunroof, multi-color front and side stripes, H4 headlights, front vent windows, and a single central exhaust outlet with a polished finisher. Additional close-up photos detailing badging, lighting, and trim are provided in the gallery below. BBS RS 15″ modular wheels are mounted with 225/50 Toyo Proxes T1R tires. An aftermarket Sachs suspension kit with height-adjustable front coilovers was added under previous ownership, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. The cabin has been fitted with Carat front bucket seats trimmed in black cloth and also features a color-coordinated rear bench seat, dashboard, and door panels. Appointments include gray carpets, hand-crank side windows, a wooden shift knob, three-point front seats belts, and a BMW Bavaria push-button radio. A three-spoke steering wheel frames a red-finished instrument cluster bezel housing a 240-km/h speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. An analog clock and boost gauge are positioned centrally on the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows just under 7k kilometers (~4k miles), and total mileage is unknown. The 2.0-liter M10 inline-four features Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection and was factory equipped with a Kühnle, Kopp, & Kausch turbocharger, 6.9:1 compression pistons, and an auxiliary oil cooler. Peak output was rated at 168 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque when new. The battery was replaced in preparation for the sale and the fluids changed. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
