This Chevrolet Corvette coupe was converted for racing use over 25 years ago and acquired by the current owner in Oregon in 2016. The car is finished in red with NART-style livery over a race-prepped interior and is powered by a modified 427ci V8 paired with an M22 four-speed manual transmission and a 3.55:1 rear differential. Equipment includes Torq Thrust–style 15″ wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a side-exit exhaust system, a front spoiler, removable roof panels, adjustable front coilovers, a fuel cell, an MSD ignition system, and a roll cage as well as a fire-suppression system, a Hurst shifter, and a Kirkey Racing seat with a four-point harness. A mechanical overhaul was carried out in 2017, and an inspection and a compression test were performed in preparation for the sale. This C3 race car is now offered on dealer consignment in Oregon with racing logbooks, recent service records, spare parts, an enclosed 30′ dual-axle aluminum trailer, a gasoline-powered Club Car golf cart, a clean Florida title for the trailer, and a bill of sale for the race car and the golf cart. The body was modified under previous ownership over 25 years ago in the style of the 1968 L88 RED/NART car that competed in the 1973 24 Hours of Le Mans. Equipment includes custom fixed headlight covers and grilles, removable roof panels, a custom side mirror, a side-exit exhaust system, a lower front spoiler, and front and rear tow loops. This is a re-list after the vehicle was previously sold on BaT in October 2023, though the sale was not completed due to a misunderstanding involving the car’s chassis number and model year. The listing has been revised to indicate the serial number is from a 1974 car, and the winner’s buyer’s fee was refunded. White-finished Torq Thrust-style 15″ alloy wheels feature polished lips and wear staggered-width Hoosier T.D. R racing tires. The aftermarket steering rack was rebuilt in 2018, and the rear leaf spring and U-joints were replaced. The front suspension features aftermarket control arms and adjustable coilovers, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs with SSBC Force 10 front calipers and custom air ducting. The removable hardtop conceals a full roll cage, and the driver is provided with a Kirkey high-back aluminum racing seat along with a Hurst shifter and a three-spoke steering wheel with a quick-release hub. Additional equipment includes a fire-suppression system, an electrical system master cut-off switch, an oversized mirror, and custom door panels. The custom dashboard houses an AutoMeter Phantom 10k-rpm tachometer and additional AutoMeter auxiliary gauges for fuel and oil pressure along with water temperature. Neither a speedometer nor odometer are installed, and the total chassis mileage is unknown. The 427ci V8 was rebuilt before being installed in 2018 and is equipped with a Dart Machinery block, 6.00″ lightweight connecting rods, a lightweight crankshaft, a custom oil pan, and a mechanical oil pump. Additional equipment includes Canfield cylinder heads, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley carburetor, an MSD ignition system, an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, a fuel cell, and a custom exhaust system with Hooker headers. Compression test photos are provided in the gallery below. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Muncie M22 four-speed manual transmission and a 3.55:1 rear differential that was rebuilt in June 2018. The clutch and flex plate were replaced in August 2018. Vehicle log books are also included in the sale along with literature and records. A 2006 Cargo South 30′ dual-axle aluminum trailer is included in the sale and features a pull-out awning, a ladder, a roof-mounted air conditioning unit, and a Hi-Power 3,500-lb tongue jack. The interior of the trailer features floor tie-downs, side and rear compartments, lightning, a Honda 5000-watt generator, and a Husky toolbox. A two-stroke gasoline-powered Club Car golf car finished in red with a white stripe is included in the sale. Features include a red vinyl seat with custom Chevrolet-branded back cushions, a rear cargo basket, and Oasis chrome wheels wrapped in Goodyear tires. The race car is not legal for road use, has not been registered for the street, and carries no title or registration. It is being sold on a bill of sale. Filed under: c3
