This 1978 Ford LTD Country Squire wagon is finished in Dark Jade Metallic over a Jade Duraweave interior, and power is provided by a 351ci V8 paired with a three-speed FMX automatic transmission. The car was sold new by John Stenach Ford of Plymouth, Pennsylvania, and is said to have been passed from the original owners to their nephew, before being placed in storage for 25 years. It was reportedly reacquired by John Stenach Ford and subsequently purchased by seller five years ago. The factory air conditioning, eight-track player, and power accessories have been retained, and service under current ownership is said to have included replacement of the battery, tires, and fluids. Now showing 5k miles, this LTD is offered with a Deluxe Marti Report and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The exterior is finished in Dark Jade Metallic (46) with wood grain applique along the body sides and tailgate as part of the Country Squire Decor group. Further features include concealed headlights, a deluxe luggage rack, and bumper protectors. Factory steel wheels wear deep-dish aluminum covers. The Cooper Trendsetter tires were fitted following the seller’s purchase and show 2013 and 2014 date codes. A spare set of tires said by the seller to be the original units are included in the sale. Inside, the Jade Duraweave (NR) upholstery is accented with wood grain appliques on the door panels and dashboard. Amenities include power brakes, windows, and locks, as well as air conditioning and an AM/FM/8-track stereo. Instrumentation consists of an 85-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows just under 5k miles, a handful of which have been added by the seller. The cargo area is accessed via the three-way Magic Doorgate, which drops down as a tailgate or opens out like a door with the glass up or down. It also features a pair of side-facing third-row jump seats that can be folded flush with the load floor. The 351ci V8 is equipped with a two-barrel carburetor. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission and a Traction-Lok rear end. Servicing by the seller is said to have included fluid changes and the installation of a new battery. The Deluxe Marti Report shows a May 18, 1978 build date and lists the original colors and equipment, as well as production statistics. A video featuring this LTD is attached below.
