This 1980 Chevrolet K30 Crew Cab pickup was fitted with an overbored 5.9-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six and the five-speed manual transmission sourced from a 1993 Dodge Power Ram following the seller’s 2012 acquisition. Additional work involved adding backdated GMC front bodywork, repainting the truck in red and gray, fitting Mickey Thompson wheels and tires, and adding Rough Country suspension components. Replacement front bucket and rear bench seats wear aftermarket covers, and the truck also has a tonneau cover, side steps, and an aftermarket stereo in addition to power steering, Mile Marker locking front hubs, and cab marker lights. This modified K30 is now offered with Alberta registration. The truck was removed from the frame, the cab was replaced with a unit sourced from a 1991 Chevrolet, and the front fenders, radiator support, and hood from a 1973 GMC were fitted before a repaint in 2018. The seller notes that the Chevrolet-sourced shades of Victory Red & Charcoal Effect were used following rust repairs to the bedsides as well as the replacement of the cab corners and other body panels. The lower portions of the cab, bed, and rockers have been covered with a 3M rubberized material, the insides of the front wheel wells have been finished in bedliner material, and the hood and lower body panels between the wheel wells have paint protection film applied. The truck is equipped with side steps, chrome bumpers, mud flaps, tinted windows, a tonneau cover, cab marker lights, and replacement handles, headlights, and hardware. Dents in the cargo box are noted, and an area of overspray was corrected in preparation for the sale. Eight-hole 16″ Mickey Thompson wheels are wrapped in 36×15.5″ Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires, and balance beads have been installed. Suspension modifications include a 2″ body lift, Rough Country 6″ front springs, and Rough Country 4.5″ rear springs with 1.5″ lift blocks. Mile Marker locking front hubs are installed, and the power steering box, linkages, and brake components are said to have been replaced in 2018. The Crew Cab cabin houses front bucket seats that were sourced from a 1991 Suburban and are trimmed in black covers, while the rear bench was sourced from a 1986 Crew Cab pickup and wears a patterned cover. Switches, wiring, the dashpad, and the door panels were replaced, and charcoal carpets were installed over sound-dampening material. A center console and an aftermarket radio are also fitted. The two-spoke tilting steering wheel frames a 140-km/h speedometer and auxiliary gauges. A trio of aftermarket readouts is mounted below the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 7k kilometers (~4,300 miles). The speedometer and odometer are not accurate, and total mileage is unknown. The seller notes that the 5.9-liter 12-valve Cummins turbodiesel inline-six was sourced from a 1993 Dodge and installed in 2018. It was bored .020″ over and equipped with Mahle pistons and a Colt Cams camshaft in addition to a replacement cylinder head, oil cooler, and water pump. The wiring, starter, and alternator were also replaced Power is routed to the rear wheels via a five-speed Getrag 360 manual transmission that was sourced from a 1993 Dodge and installed in 2018, per the seller. The clutch and hydraulic cylinders were replaced at the time. The front differential is equipped with 4.10 gears, while the rear has 3.21 gears, and the seller states that the Dodge-sourced transfer case should not be engaged. A spare 4.10 gear set will accompany the truck. Photos of the truck before and during the build process are presented in the gallery.
