1985 Chevrolet Corvette C5

This 1985 Chevrolet Corvette GTP replica was built by Retro Classic Rides in Lakeland, Florida in the style of a 1980s IMSA GT prototype class race car. Power comes from a stroked and fuel-injected 383ci V8 mated to an Audi 5-speed manual transaxle, and features include C5 Corvette suspension with Bilstein coilovers, 18″ CCW wheels, an adjustable carbon composite spoiler, electronic doors, air conditioning, door locks, power windows, and a back-up camera. This GTP is offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with a clean Texas title. Six Corvette GTP chassis were produced by Lola in the UK in the 1980s, and the monocoque for this replica was reportedly constructed using an original Lola mold. The body is finished in blue with white trim and mounted over a custom tubular subframe. Exterior features include large side air intakes and an adjustable carbon composite spoiler. According to the seller, clear and blue opaque headlight covers will accompany the sale. The car rolls on CCW Classic Monoblock 18″ wheels wearing 295/30 Michelin Pilot Sport tires up front and 335/30 rubber out back. The C5 Corvette suspension is fitted with Bilstein coilovers all around. The seller notes a scrape on the right rear quarter panel. Accessed by electronically operated flip-up doors, the cockpit is trimmed in red leather and features a pair of single-piece racing seats with BJS Racing harnesses. Features include power windows and locks, a radio, a backup camera, and air conditioning. A flat-bottomed quick-release Sparco steering wheel fronts a Digidash display including an odometer that reportedly shows just over 4,200 miles, approximately 1,200 of which have been added by the current owner. The original Corvette GTP was fitted with a turbocharged 3.4-liter V6, while this replica is powered by a stroked and fuel-injected 383ci V8 routing power through an Audi 5-speed manual transaxle.
