1986 Porsche 911 Guards red Targa
Description
1 Porsche Carrera ga in the perfect color combination, red over tan, is being offered. The exterior is the original guards red, single stage factory enamel paint with no touch ups and very few stone chips or other minor blemishes. The car was purchased through Porsche by a resident in October of 1986. The current seller acquired the car in 1997 and has lovingly cared for it since then as part of his small collection. Only minimal mileage was added to the odometer during this time, for a true total miles under 126K. The seller reports this car has not seen rain since his purchase approximately 26 years ago. wever, it was washed and waxed frequently despite very little little use. This has assured maintaining the beautiful guards red exterior in a near new condition. It was always garaged as well as covered to protect it from the sun and dust. The lifetime in has assured there is no detectable rust anywhere on this rare car. The targa top was professionally, rebuilt including a new head liner, in approximately 2000 and has rarely been folded since then. It will fit in the front bonnet for storage if desired. This Carrera was factory equipped with staggered size Fuchs wheels with black center and polished bright outer beads, front tires are 205×55 R16s, rears are 225×50 R16s. This gives the car a very firm powerful stance with the timeless Fuchs wheels look. This car was also fitted with power windows and power door locks, and all still function normally. The car also has cruise control and air conditioning. The air conditioning system does require periodic charging. It has the turbo style front air dam which houses the factory fog lamps with the black rubber chin spoiler. The lights are illuminated in one of the gallery photos below. h seats are the original leather upholstery, there is wear on the drivers bolster, a photo of this area is included. The drivers seat is power adjustable and operates normally.
Maintenance by this owner has included all normal upkeep and maintenance. This included replacing the front shocks and lowering the chassis approximately .75 inches, replacing the alternator, adding aeroquip braided brake lines, new brake pads, replacing spark plugs, the air filter, oil changes at approximately 3000 mile intervals, a transaxle oil change, and valve adjustments. The owners records of these activities will be included with the car’s documentation.
