This 1989 BMW M3 was initially sold by Classic BMW of Richardson, Texas, prior to being purchased by the seller in 2006 and is powered by a 2.3-liter S14 inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Finished in red over tan leather upholstery, the car has been modified with reground camshafts, a lightweight flywheel, an aftermarket timing belt tensioner, Maxsil pistons, a Supersprint exhaust system, 16” alloy wheels, and aftermarket audio components consisting of an Alpine head unit, Focal speakers, an Audison amplifier, and a Kicker subwoofer. Additional equipment includes a sunroof, a limited-slip differential, a rear spoiler, fog lights, front sport seats, and an onboard computer. The engine was rebuilt in 2010, the exterior was repainted in 2014, and the valves were adjusted in 2021. This E30 M3 is now offered in Canada with factory literature, spare parts, service records, a tool kit, an accident-free Carfax report, and British Columbia registration. The car was finished from the factory in Cinnabar Red and was repainted the current shade of red in 2014. Exterior details include an electric sunroof, a rear spoiler, fog lights, painted mirror caps, twin exhaust outlets, and wider fenders compared to the standard E30. Touch-up paint has been applied to the front end, and photos showing the repaint process are presented in the gallery below. The 16” alloy wheels are mounted with 205/50r16 Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3+ tires showing 2018 date codes. The MacPherson strut/semi-trailing arm suspension was revised for the M3 with a thicker rear anti-roll bar as well as shorter and stiffer springs. A removed set of wheels and tires is included in the sale. The cabin features manually adjustable front sport seats as well as a rear bench upholstered in tan leather and joined by color-coordinated carpets and door panels. Aftermarket audio components consist of an Alpine head unit, Focal speakers, an Audison amplifier, and a Kicker subwoofer. Carpeted floor mats line the footwells, and additional appointments include an onboard computer, cruise control, and power windows, mirrors, and locks. Damage is visible on the driver’s seat, the service indicator board requires replacement, and a leak is noted in the air conditioning system, which has been converted to utilize R134a refrigerant. The three-spoke M-Tech II steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 160k miles, approximately 43k of which were added under current ownership. Mileage inconsistencies are listed in April 2003 and August 2008 entries of the Carfax report, and total mileage is unknown. The 2.3-liter S14 inline-four has been modified with reground camshafts, an aftermarket timing belt tensioner, a lightweight flywheel, and Maxsil pistons. The engine was rebuilt in 2010, and the valve clearances were adjusted in 2021. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A Supersprint exhaust system has been fitted, and additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below. The Carfax report shows the aforementioned mileage inconsistencies and lists history in Texas, Washington, and British Columbia through the most recent entry in May 2022.
