This 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster is one of 823 US-market examples produced for the model year, and it is finished in Grand Prix White over a Burgundy leather interior. It is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six linked with a G50 five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential, and other equipment includes white 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, a brown soft top, a fiberglass twin-hump convertible-top cover panel, sport seats, a Blaupunkt Charleston radio, a rear luggage area, R134a-based air conditioning, cruise control, and fog lights. This 911 Speedster is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Pennsylvania title. The car features widened rear bodywork shared with the contemporary 911 Turbo, a fiberglass twin-hump convertible-top rear deck, and a shortened windscreen and side windows when compared to the standard Carrera. This example is finished in Grand Prix White (L908) with a brown soft top. The Carfax report lists an accident in an April 2001 entry, and resulting work is said to have included replacing the right door and refinishing the right quarter panels. The selling dealer notes touch-up paint on the bumpers and rear deck lid as well as a crack in the left-rear quarter panel. Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs wheels were finished from the factory in white and are mounted with Continental ExtremeContact DW Tuned tires. Braking is handled by black Porsche-script calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. The CV boots were replaced in preparation for the sale. The cabin houses sport seats trimmed in Burgundy leather, and other features include cruise control, a Blaupunkt Charleston radio, and an air conditioning system that has been converted to use R134a refrigerant and was recharged in preparation for the sale. The Speedster was not equipped with rear seats. The shifter bushings were replaced in preparation for the sale. The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline flanked by a 170-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 40k miles, although the Carfax report indicates that the speedometer was repaired in September 2022. A related invoice is shown in the gallery below. The 3.2-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection and was factory rated at 215 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels via a G50 five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale, and the lower valve cover gaskets were replaced in August 2022. Decoding the option sticker reveals the following information: L908 – Grand Prix White paint LX – Burgundy leather interior C02 – Version for USA 018 – Steering wheel with elevated hub 160 – Blaupunkt Charleston SQR 26 cassette radio 220 – Limited-slip differential 243 – Shorter shift lever for G50 transaxle 348 – White-finished Fuchs wheels 419 – Luggage compartment instead of rear seats 454 – Cruise control 533 – Alarm system 559 – Air conditioning The Carfax report shows the aforementioned accident.
