This 1990 BMW Z1 is finished in Ur-Green Metallic over beige and green upholstery and is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a black soft top, retractable doors, 16″ Style 11 alloy wheels, an Alpine audio system, and power windows. Imported to Canada in 2023, this Z1 shows 46k kilometers (~29k miles) and is offered by the selling dealer with the owner’s manual and British Columbia registration. The Z1 was the first concept vehicle developed under BMW Technik GmbH and features removable body panels constructed of GE’s Xenoy injection-cast thermoplastic along with a roll-hoop integrated into the windscreen surround, continuously zinc-welded seams, and vertically retracting doors. This example is one of 2,041 that were ordered in Ur-Green Metallic (271). Exterior equipment includes a manually retractable black soft top, A-pillar-mounted power-adjustable side mirrors, a rear diffuser, and dual exhaust outlets. The 16″ Style 11 alloy wheels are mounted with Sportrack tires measuring 225/50. The Z1 introduced a multi-link rear “Z axle” design, and the car was factory equipped with a MacPherson strut front suspension and Bilstein coilover dampers. Stopping power is provided by anti-lock discs at each corner. The interior features bolstered bucket seats upholstered in beige and green as well as a black dashboard. Cabin amenities include an Alpine audio system, a digital clock, and power windows. The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation including a 240-km/h speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 46k kilometers (~29k miles). The 2.5-liter M20B25 inline-six features Motronic 1.3 engine management and was factory rated at 168 horsepower and 161 lb-ft of torque. Fluid changes were performed in preparation of the sale. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Getrag five-speed manual transmission. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage from the first entry in 2024.
