This 1991 Lotus Omega is number 423 of 950 examples produced in a collaboration between General Motors subsidiaries Lotus, Opel, and Vauxhall. Finished in metallic green over gray leather, the car is powered by a replacement twin-turbocharged 3.6L inline-six mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes 17″ Ronal wheels, AP brake calipers, a Lotus-tuned suspension, a power sunroof, air conditioning, heated front seats, and a Phillips CD stereo. The car was initially delivered to Switzerland, where it is said to have remained with the original owner through 2009. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2021, this Type 104 shows 96k kilometers (~60k miles) and is offered in the Netherlands with manufacturer’s literature, German-language service records, and Swiss registration. In the late 1980’s, General Motors called on its then subsidiary Lotus to create a performance model using the shared Vauxhall and Opel four-door sedan platform. Fully assembled cars were delivered to Hethel for modification by Lotus, with left-hand-drive examples called Omega and right-hand-drive cars named Carlton. All Lotus Omegas were finished in Imperial Green Metallic with model-specific lower body styling, a raised rear spoiler, a vented hood, and flared wheel arches. This example is said to have had its Opel hood badge removed under prior ownership before the hood was repainted. Silver 17″ Ronal wheels wear Lotus-branded center caps and are mounted with 235/45 front and 265/40 rear Hankook Ventus S1 Evo tires, while a non-matching spare is stored in the trunk compartment. The car rides on a fully independent suspension featuring Lotus-tuned MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link self-leveling setup with semi-trailing arms out back. Speed sensitive power steering is equipped, and stopping power is provided by four-piston AP calipers over ventilated disc brakes at all four corners. The cabin houses heated front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in Anthracite Connolly leather accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard and carpets. Woodgrain trim adorns the door panels and center console. Additional appointments include air conditioning, power windows, a power-operated glass sunroof, a clock, and a Phillips CD stereo. A badge on the glovebox lid identifies this car as number 0423. The four-spoke steering wheel features Lotus Omega branding and fronts a 300-km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 96k kilometers (~60k miles), approximately 500 kilometers of which were added under current ownership. The 3.6L 24-valve inline-six was replaced in 2011 at 69k kilometers by Automobilservice Bartsch of Mönchengladbach, Germany, and is based on the 3.0L Opel unit with Mahle pistons, Lotus-designed connecting rods, a forged crankshaft, a water-to-air intercooler, and twin Garrett T25 turbochargers. Factory-rated output was 377 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF six-speed manual transmission sourced from the contemporary Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 and a limited-slip differential. A dual exhaust system was equipped from the factory, and additional underside images are presented in the gallery below. A German-language maintenance booklet and service records are included in the sale. The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a country that does not issue titles for vehicles. It is being sold on its registration.
