1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth

This 1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth was originally sold in Sweden and subsequently imported to Canada by the seller from the UK earlier this year. Power comes from 2.0-liter 16-valve Cosworth inline-four fitted with a Garrett turbocharger and mated to 5-speed manual gearbox with permanent four-wheel drive system. Modifications include a tuned ECU, upgraded injectors, an aftermarket intake and 3″ turbo-back exhaust, 18″ wheels, Bilstein shocks, a boost gauge, Hella lights, and an upgraded clutch. A service conducted prior to importation included new spark plugs and new brake pads front and rear. Now showing approximately 84k kilometers  (~52k miles), this Escort is offered in Ontario with a VinInfo report, a European license plate, and a clean Ontario title. The Escort RS was built on a modified Sierra Cosworth platform with just over 7,000 examples produced during a four year production run. This particular car was produced in October 1992 as confirmed by a letter from Ford viewable in the gallery. The exterior is set off by a front air dam with splitter, flared fenders, and a whale-tail spoiler. A pair of Hella headlights replace the standard items and the seller notes the front bumper was repainted to address stone chips. The car rides on a set of black 18″ four-lug multi-spoke wheels wearing newer tires. Bilstein shock absorbers are fitted at each corner. The interior is trimmed in black leather and features bolstered sport seats, an aftermarket boost gauge and non-stock shift knob, as well as a quick-release Sparco steering wheel. A Pioneer radio replaces the stock unit and wear is noted on the driver’s seat, along with an inoperable oil pressure gauge. The A/C condenser and compressor were removed, though switchgear and wiring for A/C reportedly remain in place. The odometer currently displays about 84k kilometers (~52k miles). The longitudinally-mounted Cosworth 2.0-liter four features a Garret turbocharger and sends power to a permanent four-wheel drive system. Modifications include an upgraded clutch, tuned ECU, fuel injectors, and air intake. Recent maintenance included replacing various fluids, and installing new spark plugs, cap, and rotor.
