Model: Dodge Viper SR II (1996-2002)
Year: 1996

This 1996 Dodge Viper is one of 721 RT/10 convertibles produced for the model year, and this example is finished in Viper Black over black diamond-quilt leather. Power is supplied by an 8.0-liter V10 paired with a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes a limited-slip differential with an aftermarket 3.55:1 ring and pinion set as well as 17″ five-spoke wheels, MGW shift and control knobs, air conditioning, an alarm system, an aftermarket steering wheel, and a Pioneer head unit. The car was acquired by the seller in a November 2021 BaT auction, and it previously spent time in Georgia, California, Illinois, and New Jersey. This Viper shows 12k miles and is offered with hard and soft tops, a car cover, removed factory components, a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name. The car is finished in Viper Black (PX3) with dual silver over-the-top stripes. Exterior equipment includes fog lights, a forward-opening clamshell hood, removable windows, and center-exit dual exhaust outlets. Both hard and soft tops are included in the sale along with a tonneau cover. Factory 17″ wheels wheels wear 275/40 and 335/35 Michelin Pilot Sport tires that show date codes from 2020. The RT/10 is equipped with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel independent suspension, and four-wheel vented disc brakes with Viper-branded calipers up front. 1996 models were not equipped with ABS. The cabin features bucket seats and a center armrest that were reupholstered in black diamond-quilt leather. Viper logos were also embroidered in each backrest. Additional equipment includes MGW shift and control knobs, air conditioning, an alarm system, and an aftermarket Pioneer head unit. The removed stock cassette deck is included in the sale. An aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel frames a 180-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline. Auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage are mounted atop the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 12k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the seller. The removed factory shift knob and steering wheel are included with the car. The 8.0-liter OHV V10 was rated at 415 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque when new. Modifications include stainless steel oil cooler lines, metal accessory pulleys, and aftermarket intake tubes. The air conditioning system is said to have received a refrigerant recharge in September 2023, and an oil change was also carried out in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, the latter of which was modified with a Unitrax ring and pinion set that contains 3.55:1 gears. Additional photos of the underside are available in the gallery below. A window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, an instructional VHS tape, a scale model, and a car cover are included in the sale. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Georgia, California, Illinois, New Jersey, and Maryland.
