This 1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 SS coupe was sold new by Tom Hesser Chevrolet of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and has since spent time in New Jersey and Ontario, Canada through the selling dealer’s acquisition in June 2022, and now has 5k miles. Finished in black over dark gray leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes the Z28 and SS packages as well as removable T-top roof panels, 17″ alloy wheels, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and locks, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a power-steering cooling system, and a Monsoon premium audio system with a remote CD changer. This Camaro is now offered by the selling dealer with two key fobs, manufacturer’s literature, a window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and Ontario registration. The car came finished from the factory in black and features removable T-top roof panels, power-adjustable mirrors, fog lights, and dual exhaust outlets. In addition to identifying badges, the SS Performance Package added a revised hood with a functional scoop as well as a taller rear spoiler. Silver-finished 17″ alloy wheels wear SS center caps and are mounted with 275/40 Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. SS-specific equipment includes a performance suspension with a larger front stabilizer bar, unique shock valving, and stiffer springs and bushings when compared to the standard Camaro. Stopping power is handled by four-wheel anti-lock discs, and the car is equipped with traction control and Bilstein shocks. The front bucket seats are trimmed in Dark Gray leather upholstery with perforated inserts and are complimented by a color-coordinated dash, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include air conditioning, cruise control, power-operated window and locks, keyless entry, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a rear window defogger, and a Monsoon premium audio system with a remote 12-disc CD changer mounted in the trunk. A two-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 155-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The digital odometer indicates just over 5k miles. The 5.7-liter LS1 V8 was factory rated at 325 horsepower and 350-lb-ft of torque. An oil change and coolant flush were reportedly carried out in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. A Moser Engineering rear differential cover has been installed during previous ownership. Additional underbody photos are shown in the gallery below. The window sticker lists initial delivery to Tom Hesser Chevrolet of Scranton, Pennsylvania, along with factory colors, equipment, and a total vehicle price of $28,705. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Ontario, Canada.
