This 1998 Dodge Viper GTS is #63 of 100 GT2 Championship Edition coupes built during the single model year to commemorate Chrysler’s winning of the 1997 FIA GT2 championship and a class victory in the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is powered by an 8.0-liter V10 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and is finished in Stone White with blue stripes over black and blue leather upholstery. The car is equipped with a limited-slip differential, 18″ BBS alloy wheels, projector-style headlights, an aero kit, a fixed rear wing, Oreca racing harnesses, air conditioning, and an Alpine CD stereo. Originally ordered for delivery at the Conner Avenue assembly plant in Detroit, Michigan, it remained in the state before being acquired by the selling dealer in 2021 and exported to Canada. Now showing 2,300 miles, this Viper GT2 is offered in British Columbia with a window sticker, the owner’s manual, a car cover, spare parts, promotional items, memorabilia, and a clean Michigan title. Championship Edition models received GTS-R badging along with a factory aero package including a front splitter, ground-effect side skirts, and a fixed rear wing. This example is finished in Stone White Clearcoat with blue stripes and features projector-style headlights, fog lights, front bumper canards, a vented hood, and dual center-exit exhaust outlets. The GT2 version also came with staggered-width 18″ BBS wheels from the factory, which are mounted with older Michelin Pilot SX tires measuring 275/35 in front and 335/30 out back. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs with black Viper-branded calipers up front. The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black and blue leather along with a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, and door panels. Additional equipment includes red Oreca racing harnesses, an Alpine CD stereo, air conditioning, adjustable pedals, power windows, and dual airbags. A plaque affixed to the gear selector surround indicates chassis #63 of the Championship Edition examples built. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline. Auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage are mounted atop the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 2,300 miles, approximately a handful of which were added under current ownership. The 8.0-liter OHV V10 features a low-restriction air cleaner and was factory rated at 460 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque in GT2 Championship specification. The battery was replaced in December 2021. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The window sticker shows customer pick-up at the Conner Avenue assembly plant in Detroit, Michigan, and lists factory equipment, colors, and a total price of $85,200. Also included in the sale are original purchase documents, a service manual, spare parts, promotional items, memorabilia, and photographs. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage, an open manufacturer safety recall from 2002 related to the steering and differential frame, and history in Michigan and British Columbia. There is a gap in entries from 2002 to 2021.
