This 1998 Panoz AIV Roadster is one of 176 examples produced between 1996 and 1999 and is powered by a Ford 4.6-liter DOHC V8 mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in yellow over black leather upholstery, and equipment includes a removable black soft top and side curtains, 18″ Kosei-Roush wheels, SVT Mustang Cobra-sourced disc brakes, adjustable coilovers, wind wings, air conditioning, carbon-fiber interior trim, and an Eclipse AM/FM/CD stereo. The current owner acquired the car in February 2012, and an oil change was carried out in preparation for the sale. This Panoz AIV shows 9k miles and is now offered on dealer consignment with a clean Carfax report and a clean Delaware title. Designed by Freeman Thomas, the AIV, or Aluminum Intensive Vehicle, featured a superplastic-formed aluminum body with fiberglass fenders and a hood scoop. This example is finished in yellow and is equipped with body-color mirror caps, wind wings, rear gravel guards, and twin central exhaust outlets in addition to chrome-finished bumpers and headlight housings. Images showing the removed black soft top and side curtains are included in the gallery below. Kosei-Roush 18″ wheels are mounted with 245/40 front and 295/35 rear BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW tires showing 2007 date codes. The car rides on a four-wheel independent suspension with adjustable coilovers. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs sourced from an SVT Mustang Cobra. The cockpit features high-back bucket seats trimmed in black leather with debossed Panoz logos on each headrest. Color-coordinated upholstery extends to the dashboard, center console, and door panels, and additional appointments include air conditioning, carbon-fiber trim, drilled metal pedals, a polished shift knob, and an Eclipse AM/FM/CD stereo. Indentations are present in the grilles of the Eclipse-branded speakers located between the seats. A flat-bottom steering wheel fronts centrally positioned instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 9k miles, approximately 1,900 of which have been added by the current owner. The 4.6-liter DOHC V8 was sourced from Ford’s SVT division and produced 300 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque when new. An oil change was carried out in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a Ford 8.8″ rear end with a limited-slip differential. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Delaware from the first entry in February 2012.
