This 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STi is #337 of 400 examples produced for the Japanese market to commemorate Subaru’s 40th anniversary and their third consecutive manufacturer’s title in the FIA World Rally Championship race series. Finished in blue over a black and blue interior, the car is powered by a turbocharged 2.2-liter flat-four that drives all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and an electronically locking center differential. Additional equipment includes 22B-specific bodywork, an adjustable rear wing, gold-finished 17″ BBS wheels, red-finished brake calipers, Cusco adjustable coilovers, Recaro front seats, and a Nardi steering wheel. The car was acquired by the seller in 2021 out of Poland, and service performed in October 2023 involved replacing the timing belt along with the water pump. This 22B STi is now offered in Warsaw, Poland, at no reserve with a Japanese Export Certificate, removed Bilstein suspension components, and Polish registration in the seller’s name. The 22B STi was offered exclusively in Rally Blue Pearl and featured a model-specific vented aluminum hood with a hood scoop as well as widened fenders, rocker extensions, and an adjustable rear wing. Further equipment includes fog lights with STi-branded covers, power-folding side mirrors, tinted windows, a pink Pleiades grille emblem, a “22B STi” trunk badge, and an STi branded exhaust tip. A ceramic coating has been applied to the exterior, per the seller. Factory 17″ gold-finished BBS wheels are wrapped in Yokohama S Drive tires, while a non-matching spare wheel is stored in the trunk compartment. The car is equipped with a carbon-fiber strut tower bar and rides on Cusco adjustable coilovers, while stopping power is provided by red-finished Subaru-branded calipers over vented discs. The removed Bilstein suspension components are included in the sale. The right-hand-drive cabin houses manually adjustable Recaro front seats trimmed in black cloth with blue inserts accented by red stitching and STi embroidery on the backrests. Additional appointments include STi-branded door sill covers and a leather shift knob with red stitching as well as automatic climate control, a CD stereo, and power windows. The serialized plaque ahead of the shifter identifies this car as #337 in the series of 400. White-dial instrumentation is fronted by a leather-clad Nardi steering wheel and consists of a 9k-rpm tachometer, a 180-km/h speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 126k kilometers (~78k miles), approximately 100 of which have been added under current ownership. The turbocharged and intercooled 2.2-liter EJ22G DOHC flat-four was factory-rated at 280 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 268 lb-ft of torque at 3,200 rpm. Work performed in October 2023 involved replacing the water pump, timing belt, air filter, and spark plugs as well as performing an oil change. Power is sent to all four wheels via a close-ratio five-speed manual transmission with a driver-adjustable electronically locking center differential. The seller notes that a protective coating has been applied to the underside. The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a country that does not issue titles for vehicles. It is being sold on its Polish registration.
