This 2000 Lotus 340R is one of approximately 40 left-hand-drive examples produced and is the final example of eight total units initially brought to the US by Lotus. The car was acquired by the seller in 2018 after being sold on BaT in October 2017. Finished in black and silver over black and blue upholstery, the car is powered by a mid-mounted 1.8-liter Rover inline-four linked to a five-speed manual gearbox. Additional equipment includes carbon-fiber intake and exhaust systems, staggered-diameter alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers, Eibach springs, Koni shocks, and dual roll hoops. This 340R has 684 miles and is offered in Arizona with spare wheels and tires, removed parts, a Lotus Certificate of Vehicle Provenance, and a bill of sale. The 340R features a bonded extruded aluminum tub shared with the contemporary Elise, and all examples were finished in black and silver. Details include composite body panels, fog lights, a front spoiler and winglets, dual roll hoops, side air inlets, and polished dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes the body was removed from the frame and paint protection film was applied. Silver center-locking alloy wheels are mounted with 195/50/15″ front and 225/45/16″ rear Toyo Proxes R888R tires that show 2017 and 2018 production date codes. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with Lotus-branded front calipers and drilled rotors. The suspension features Eibach springs, adjustable Koni dampers, and anti-roll bars, and the car is equipped with unassisted rack-and-pinion steering. The wheel bearings are said to have been replaced under current ownership. The left-hand-drive cockpit is equipped with sport bucket seats trimmed in black leather and blue Alcantara, and Schroth Racing harnesses are fitted for both occupants. Buttons for the lighting and defroster are mounted vertically ahead of the shifter. The blue Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel frames a 150-mph speedometer and a 9k-rpm tachometer. The digital odometer indicates 684 miles, approximately 350 of which were added during current ownership. The 1.8-liter Rover K-Series inline-four is a Very High Performance Derivative (VHPD) and was factory rated at 177 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. A carbon-fiber air box is installed, and factory equipment includes an auxiliary oil cooler and a carbon-fiber Janspeed exhaust system. The seller states a high-performance radiator was fitted and the thermostat and cooling hoses were replaced. The underbody features a flat aluminum tray with NACA ducts. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery. A Lotus Certificate of Provenance was issued in August 2017, which outlines the VIN, production volume information, and equipment and colors. A spare set of wheels, several unmounted tires, and spare parts are included in the sale along with service records and the manufacturer’s literature. The car does not have a title, as it is intended for track use only. It is being sold on a bill of sale.
