2001 BMW E39 M5

This 2001 BMW M5 is a Canadian-market example that has remained registered in Ontario through the seller’s acquisition in 2019. It is powered by a 4.9-liter V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and is finished in Imola Red II over black leather and M Texture Alcantara upholstery. Equipment includes 18″ Style 65 wheels, a limited-slip differential, a sunroof, xenon headlights with washers, fog lights, aftermarket exhaust components, front and rear Park Distance Control, a rear spoiler, heated power-adjustable front seats, an iPod connector, dual-zone automatic climate control, an aftermarket Bluetooth module, and navigation. Work in preparation for the sale reportedly consisted of repairing dead pixels on the center stack, performing paintless dent repair on the body, changing the oil, and replacing the valve cover gaskets, oxygen sensors, fuel filter, and spark plugs. This E39 M5 is now offered with factory literature, service records, two keys, spare parts, US and Canadian Carfax reports, and Ontario registration. The car is finished in Imola Red II with Shadowline trim and features xenon headlights with washers, fog lamps, front and rear parking sensors, a glass sunroof, a trunk lid spoiler, rain-sensing wipers, and quad exhaust outlets. Paint chips are noted on the front end and rear bumper cover, mounting holes are located on the front bumper cover, and the seller states the trim above the headlights requires replacement. The right-rear quarter panel was reportedly refinished under prior ownership, and paintless dent repair is said to have been performed on the body in preparation for the sale. The car features Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with All Season Traction, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs measuring 13.6″ and 12.9″ front and rear, respectively. According to the seller, the tires require replacement due to age. The heated power-adjustable front seats are trimmed in black leather with M Texture Alcantara inserts, while brushed aluminum accents the dashboard, center console, and upper doors. Rubberized floor mats line the footwells, and additional appointments include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a power rear sunshade, navigation, an aftermarket Bluetooth module, and an iPod connector. Wear is visible on the shift knob, and an indicator light for the front-right seat warmer button does not work. Dead pixels on the center stack display were reportedly repaired in preparation for the sale. The multi-function leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts an M-branded 300-km/h speedometer and a tachometer with a variable redline, along with gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer shows 151k kilometers (~94k miles), approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. The 4.9-liter S62 V8 is equipped with individual throttle bodies and double-VANOS continuously variable valve timing. It was factory rated at 394 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 369 lb-ft of torque at 3,800 rpm. Service in preparation for the sale included changing the oil in addition to replacing the fuel filter, oxygen sensors, valve cover gaskets, and spark plugs. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Aftermarket exhaust components have been fitted, and corrosion is noted on the underside, additional photos of which are provided in the gallery. The US Carfax report lists history in Ontario, and a “theft” claim is listed in a May 2006 entry of the Canadian Carfax report, which is presented in the gallery below.
