This 2001 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup was built by Porsche Motorsport Centre Flacht in Weissach, Germany and originally delivered to Martin Flitton Racing in Newbury, England. The car was reportedly campaigned in the Pirelli Supercup series for one season before being retired for amateur use and was acquired in 2015 by its current owner, a former General Motors safety engineer. A sealed 3.6-liter 997 flat-six from Porsche Motorsport North America is said to have replaced the original engine under previous ownership, and is paired with a rebuilt and regeared six-speed manual transaxle. Additional modifications include later-model GT3 brakes, aerodynamic aids, OMP EVO harnesses, a 4.0L Cup clutch, and more. Changes of the engine oil and brake fluid were performed in March 2019 as well as a four-wheel alignment and corner balancing. This 996 GT3 Cup is offered on consignment by the selling dealer in North Carolina with a DME report, service records from 2001, factory technical manuals, and a bill of sale. Originally finished in Biarritz White, chassis #54 was repainted in black and green livery following damage to the passenger-side quarter panel according to the selling dealer. The vinyl decals are said to be removable and aerodynamic components installed under current ownership include a custom front splitter, a GOODAero adjustable rear wing, a carbon fiber trunk lid, and more. Multi-piece 18″ BBS centerlock wheels wear Pirelli tires, and braking upgrades include 2002+ GT3 Cup components. The car is equipped with air jacks which have reportedly been rebuilt or replaced as necessary. Recent maintenance included flushing the brake fluid as well as performing a four-wheel alignment and corner balancing in March 2019. The cockpit features a pair of OMP one-piece racing seats with OMP EVO harnesses said to be valid through 2020. Other features include a fire suppression system, a quick-release MOMO steering wheel, and a CarTek shift light as well as engine and battery cut-off switches. Factory instrumentation is retained and the digital odometer indicates 27k kilometers (~17k miles), approximately 9k kilometers of which have been added by the current owner in Porsche club open track events. According to the selling dealer, the ECU read 212 hours when the car was acquired in 2015. A sealed GT3 Cup 997 3.6-liter flat-six was reportedly sourced from Porsche Motorsport North America and installed by Porsche of Colorado Springs under previous ownership, and is said to have been run for one hour plus dyno time prior to the current owner’s acquisition. Work under current ownership included installation of updated ignition coils and reprogramming the ECU as well as an oil change in March 2019. A September 2019 compression and leakdown test reportedly produced results of 210-215 psi and 5-7% across all six cylinders. The six-speed manual gearbox is said to have been rebuilt by GBox in Erie, Colorado prior to the current owner’s acquisition. The unit was more recently re-geared and fitted with a 4.0L Cup clutch and shift cables by Autometrics Motorsports in Charleston, South Carolina according to the selling dealer. Spare parts include a set of BBS multi-piece wheels mounted with Pirelli slick tires, a front splitter, removable side windows, an air-jack wand, and (four) wheel nut tie-downs.
