This 2001 Renault Clio V6 is #118 of 159 Trophy units built by Renaultsport for use in series competition to promote the second-generation Clio. The Clio V6 Trophy hearkened back to the Renault 5 Turbo with a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout featuring a 3.0-liter V6 paired with a six-speed sequential transaxle. This example is finished in yellow over a race-prepped interior and was imported from Japan to the US by the seller in 2022 under an EPA racing vehicle exclusion. Equipment includes front and rear spoilers, widened bodywork, side scoops, carbon-fiber side mirror housings, a roll cage, a Sparco steering wheel, Magneti Marelli instrumentation, OMP racing seats, Sparco harnesses, 18″ Cromodora wheels, and Brembo brake calipers at all four corners. This Renault race car is now offered in Washington State on a bill of sale with import documents. The V6 Trophy body features widened fenders, rocker panel covers, doors, quarter panels, and bumper covers compared to the standard Clio. This example is finished in yellow, and additional features include a front lip spoiler, a roof-mounted rear spoiler, an aluminum fuel filler cap, carbon-fiber side mirror housings, side air intakes, tow hooks, and exposed hood and liftgate locks. Heat shield material has been applied to the rear bumper cover under the dual exhaust outlets. The right-side quarter panel extension is cracked, and cracking paint on the liftgate and left-side door and quarter panel can be viewed in the gallery. Cromodora 18” wheels are mounted with 225/40 front and 245/40 rear Yokohama ADVAN tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with Brembo calipers at all four corners. An aftermarket emergency brake was installed prior to importation. Seating consists of two OMP racing seats trimmed in black cloth with Renaultsport embroidery. A roll cage was fitted from the factory, and the battery is mounted in the passenger footwell. Additional appointments include Sparco six-point harnesses, black plastic door panels, crank windows, and a removable driver-side window net. A Sparco steering wheel is mounted to a quick-release hub and fronts a Magneti Marelli tachometer, an SPA digital speedometer, and a digital display. The car does not have an odometer, and true mileage is unknown. The naturally aspirated 3.0-liter V6 was factory rated at 281 horsepower and 226 lb-ft of torque and sends power to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential transaxle. The engine was adapted from the Renault Laguna and mounted transversely ahead of the rear axles. A March 2021 letter from the EPA notes that the car was granted a racing vehicle exclusion and cannot be registered for street use in the US. The car does not have a title, as it is intended for track use only. It is being sold on a bill of sale.
