This 2002 Ford Taurus is a NASCAR race car driven by Ricky Rudd in the Winston Cup Series from 2000 to 2002. It was later acquired by the current owner in 2017 and reportedly underwent a refurbishment by Gene Felton Industries in 2020. The car is finished in a black and yellow #28 Texaco Havoline livery and is powered by a 358ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes an adjustable rear spoiler, a roll cage, a quick-release steering wheel, a trunk-mounted fuel cell, and a Richardson Racing Products fixed bucket seat with head restraints as well as 15″ wheels, Goodyear racing slicks, Brembo brakes, and Bilstein shocks. This Cup Series race car is now offered on dealer consignment in Portland, Oregon with racing log sheets, dynamometer test results, and a bill of sale. The car features a tube-frame chassis and black and yellow bodywork with a #28 Texaco Havoline livery. Details include an adjustable rear spoiler, decals mimicking the headlights and taillights of a 2002 Ford Taurus, Lexan windows, and sponsorship graphics. Scratches, dings, and stone chips are noted around the body. Black 15” steel wheels are accented with yellow pinstriping and mounted with Goodyear Eagle racing slicks. The suspension utilizes Bilstein shocks, and braking is handled by Brembo four-wheel discs. The cockpit features a single Richarson Racing Products racing seat with a Simpson harness. The integrated roll cage is padded around the driver’s seat, and additional equipment includes Simpson window nets and a custom dash panel and switchgear. A 22-gallon Fuel Safe fuel cell is mounted in the trunk. The padded three-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a quick-release hub and fronts an aluminum instrument panel housing an AutoMeter 11k-rpm tachometer flanked by VDO auxiliary gauges. No odometer is present, and true mileage is unknown. The 358ci V8 features a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a painted carbon-fiber airbox, Roush Racing valve covers, and tubular exhaust headers. The car is also equipped with power steering, an aluminum radiator, an oil cooler, and stainless steel braided fuel and oil lines. Records indicate the engine was rebuilt in 2006 by Ernie Elliott, Inc. of Dawsonville, Georgia, and dynamometer test results are included in the gallery below. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Jerico four-speed manual transmission. Additional images of the underside are provided in the gallery below. The car does not have a VIN and does not have a title, as it is not legal for road use. It is being sold on a bill of sale.
