This 2008 Ford Mustang FR500S is a track-only model designed by Ford Racing and Miller Motorsports to compete in the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge series. Finished in red, white, and blue livery, it is equipped with an aerodynamics package, a roll cage, adjustable dampers, a digital instrument display, and more. Power is supplied by a blueprinted 4.6-liter V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The car is said to have been used as a Ford Racing marketing display prior to its acquisition by the seller in 2019, and has reportedly not seen track time. FR500S #058 shows 21 miles and is offered with an inspection sheet and a Michigan bill of sale. The car is finished in white with red and blue stripes, 558 numbering on the hood and doors, and sponsorship decals. Exterior features include a front splitter as well as a rear wing and diffuser. Curb weight is approximately 3,400 pounds according to Ford. Ford Racing 18″ wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich g-Force R1 tires measuring 245/40 all around. Suspension includes two-way adjustable dampers at each corner as well as sway bars with three-position adjustability up front. Braking is provided by four-piston Brembo calipers and 14″ slotted rotors up front and a four-wheel anti-lock system calibrated for track use. The stripped cockpit features a single racing seat with a multi-point harness, a roll cage with door bars, a window net, a quick-release Sparco steering wheel, toggle switches on the center stack, an engine-start button, and drilled aluminum pedals. A Sparco fire suppression system is fitted in the trunk and passenger compartment floor. An AiM digital dash display sits in front of the factory instrumentation, providing a speedometer and tachometer as well as customizable readouts for systems throughout the car. The factory digital odometer shows just under 21 miles. The 4.6-liter V8 was sourced from the contemporary road car and blueprinted by Ford Racing to produce approximately 325 horsepower. A stainless steel Borla exhaust system with long-tube headers was equipped as standard. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission that was factory-equipped with an upgraded clutch and a short-throw shifter. An inspection and fluid changes were performed in January 2020 according to the seller.
