Model: Jaguar Replica

This Jaguar XJ13 replica was commissioned by the current owner from Race Car Replicas of Fraser, Michigan, in 2014. The car features fiberglass bodywork finished in metallic green over an aluminum monocoque tub, and power comes from a fuel-injected 5.3-liter Jaguar V12 paired with a Porsche G50 five-speed manual transaxle. Features include an adjustable coilover suspension with billet aluminum control arms and uprights, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, an electric parking brake, staggered-width 15″ three-piece wheels, rack-and-pinion steering, a custom aluminum radiator, custom stainless steel headers, bucket seats trimmed in tan leather and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Service performed since 2021 included the installation of a new starter, clutch master cylinder, spark box and coil pack unit, water pump, spark plugs, fuel filters, and a CV boot along with a resurfacing of the flywheel and revisions of the steering, cooling, and electrical systems. This XJ13 replica is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with Lexan side windows, service records, a car cover, and a California title that lists the car as a 1965 Jaguar. The original XJ13 was a one-off prototype developed as a V12-powered Le Mans contender in the 1960s under the direction of Jaguar Chief Engineer William Heynes. Completed in 1966, it featured a mid-engine layout with aluminum bodywork styled by C-, D-, and E-Type designer Malcolm Sayer. The car achieved a MIRA high-speed circuit record of 161.655 mph during 1967 testing, but its racing future was derailed by 1968 Le Mans rule changes. The XJ13 was severely damaged in a crash while returning to MIRA for the promotion of Jaguar’s production V12 in 1971 and was rebuilt two years later by its original panel fabricator, Abbey Panels. The fiberglass bodywork of this example is finished in metallic green with simulated rivets and features Jaguar E-Type taillights, a rear trunk, quarter panel vents, aluminum door handles, dual fender-mounted Talbot-style mirrors, and a Lexan rear window and headlight covers. A set of Lexan side windows is included in the sale and can be seen in the gallery. The staggered-width 15″ XJ13-style three-piece wheels wear three-eared knock-off hubs and are mounted with 205/60 Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 tires up front and 235/50 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 rubber out back. The aluminum monocoque tub features an aluminum suspension with billet upright and control arms, adjustable coilovers, and a quick-ratio manual rack-and-pinion steering system. Stopping power is provided by Wilwood calipers over vented rotors. An electric parking brake system was installed by Mt. Tam Motors of San Rafael, California, in 2018, and the right rear CV boot was replaced by Performance Fabrication of San Carlos, California, in 2021. The cockpit features bucket seats trimmed in tan leather upholstery along with color-coordinated carpets. Equipment includes three-point seatbelts and floor-hinged drilled pedals. The dash-mounted rear-view mirror was installed by Performance Fabrication in 2021 along with a replacement brake light switch and throttle cable assembly. The wood-rimmed steering wheel features a Jaguar hub button and is mounted on a collapsible steering column ahead of a black dash housing Race Car Replicas-branded instrumentation including an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 200-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The fuel gauges were rewired in February 2022. The digital odometer shows 500 miles. The 5.3-liter Jaguar V12 was sourced from a 1986 XJS and features a custom fuel-injection system that was built by Fran Olsen of Fox Injection of Denton, North Carolina according to the selling dealer. Additional features include polished intake trumpets and a custom aluminum radiator. Service performed since 2021 included the installation of a new set of custom water manifolds, spark box and coil pack unit, and fuel filters as well as a rerouting of the coolant lines and a revision of the engine wiring harness. A new water pump and spark plugs were installed in February 2022. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Porsche G50 five-speed manual transaxle that was serviced with reinforced rear linkage mounting brackets by Performance Fabrication in 2021. Additional work performed at that time included the installation of a new clutch master cylinder, a clutch cover, and a resurfacing of the flywheel. Custom stainless steel exhaust headers are fitted. A collection of build photos can be seen in the gallery. The California title carries a “Non-USA” brand.
