This 1975 Volkswagen Type 2 is a Brazilian-market example that was refurbished and modified before being imported to the US in March 2023. Work included refinishing the body in white and turquoise, adding a pop-up roof, and modifying the cabin as a camper with a folding rear bench, a sink, a mini refrigerator, privacy curtains, overhead lighting, various storage compartments, and fold-out tables. Additional equipment includes a four-speed manual transaxle, gear reduction boxes, electronic ignition, and whitewall tire inserts as well as dual roof racks, safari-style windshields, pop-out side windows, and umbrella awning, a 12-volt charging outlet, three-point front seatbelts, and a mesh basket with integrated cupholders. Power comes from an air-cooled 1.6L flat-four that was assembled and installed in March 2023 and serviced with an oil change and replacement of the spark plugs, fuel filter, V-belt, and battery in December 2023. This Type 2 is now offered with parts receipts and a clean Florida title in the name of the seller’s LLC. The bus has been refinished in white and turquoise with polished beltline trim and features a pop-up roof panel, safari-style windshields, three pop-out side windows, and dual roof racks with wood slats. White-painted steel wheels wearing chrome VW-stamped hubcaps are mounted with Westlake tires featuring whitewall inserts. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes that were said to be overhauled during the refurbishment. The front cabin houses a bench seat trimmed in beige and gray vinyl joined by matching door panels and gray carpets. Additional equipment includes three-point front seatbelts, a 12-volt charging outlet, Wolfsburg-crest shift knob, sliding front windows, an overhead ventilation unit, and a mesh basket with integrated cupholders. The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a VDO 120-km/h speedometer along with a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 84k kilometers (~52k miles), and true mileage is unknown. Dual swing-out side doors provide access to the rear compartment, which has been modified as a camper and features matching upholstery, woodgrain paneling, a folding rear bench, and a rear-facing seat in addition to a sink, a mini refrigerator, privacy curtains, overhead lighting, various storage compartments, fold-out tables, and an umbrella awning. The air-cooled 1.6L flat-four features electronic ignition and was assembled in March 2023 utilizing a replacement engine case, bearings, camshaft, and 87mm pistons and cylinders. Service in preparation for the sale included an oil change and replacement of the spark plugs, fuel filter, V-belt, and battery. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle equipped with gear-reduction boxes. A replacement Jopex muffler and J-tubes have been fitted. The right pushrod tube shield is missing. Photos taken during various stages of refurbishment work can be viewed in the gallery. The current Florida title is listed as a duplicate.
