This 1965 Volkswagen Type 2 is a 13-window Microbus Deluxe model that was cosmetically refurbished under previous ownership with a repaint in two-tone teal and beige as well as an interior re-trim. The seller acquired the bus in January 2016 and subsequently installed a replacement 1.6-liter flat-four with dual-port cylinder heads. Additional equipment includes a four-speed manual transaxle, a split windshield, white-finished 14″ steel wheels, pop-out side windows, front bucket seats, a JVC CD stereo, a replacement rear seat, a Solex carburetor, a 12-volt electrical system, and beige-finished bumpers with guards. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale along with setting the timing, adjusting the valve clearances and ignition points, and replacing the rear wheel cylinders. This 13-window Type 2 is now offered with a clean Ohio title in the name of the seller’s wife. The bus left the factory finished in Blue White and Velvet Green and was repainted during previous ownership. Details include pop-out side windows, a split windshield, right-side cargo doors, and beige-finished bumpers with guards. The right-side wiper arm is missing, dents are visible on the bumpers, and corrosion is noted at the rocker panels and left-rear wheel well. White-finished steel wheels show wear and are mounted with chrome hubcaps and thin-whitewall tires. The seller states that the rear wheel cylinders were replaced in preparation for the sale. The front bucket seats are upholstered in gray vinyl and accompanied by a gray cloth rear seat that was sourced from another vehicle. Equipment includes a JVC CD stereo, an analog clock, front lap belts, black rubber floor mats, and aftermarket cupholders mounted to the dash. The two-spoke steering wheel shows wear and fronts a VDO 80-mph speedometer along with a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 4k miles, approximately 1,500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The replacement dual-port 1.6L flat-four was installed under current ownership and is equipped with a Solex carburetor and a 12-volt electrical system. Work performed in preparation for the sale reportedly included an oil change, setting the timing, and adjusting the valve clearances and ignition points. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Filed under: vw
